My dr sent me for an ultrasound and mamogram, turned out I just had dense lumpy tissue which is fairly common at my age. If you are worried ask to be sent for a mamogram and ultrasound.

I had lumpt breasts too, but my Dr sent me for an ultrsound straight away. I think you should go back (or elsewhere) and ask for a scan referral.

Sorry OP, but waiting three months is three months too long.

Organise to see another GP immediately to organise a mammogram and ultrasound. It may very well be nothing but dense breast tissue in which case you will not have spent three months with this hanging over your head. If it is something to worry about, then early diagnosis = best chance of survival.

I have had a lot of lumps which are often small, hard and easy to move around IYKWIM, the first one I found was at 15 years of age. They have all been fibroadenomas (?sp) which are harmless. However if I find a new one I have an ultrasound pretty much straight away. Even though my type of lumps are harmless I have a breast specialist who I see every 18-24 months.
If it were me I would be wanting an ultrasound, any new lumps I have they often do a small needle biopsy to be sure they are what they suspect them to be.
For your peace of mind perhaps request a referral from your doc.
Good luck any lump is stressful!

See another doctor and get the tests done - 3 months is too long if it's cancer (which is rare in our age group btw, but get checked!)

Two years ago I found a pea shaped lump in my breast, forgot about it for a while ddoh.gif (i thought it might be hormonal so planned to wait a couple of weeks to see it was still there) When I remember about it I went to see the Dr and she sent me to have a mammogram and Ultrasound. I was told that the Mammogram is not great for women our age due to tissue density and that the Ultrasound worked better.
My Lump turned out to be a lymphatic (sp?) cyst and completely normal. Actually mine disappeared during pregnancy or breastfeeding and has not re-occured.

I would not wait 3 months, I would return to the Dr for a referral for a ultrasound.

Yep another one saying go get a referral for an ultrasound, I did this and it was just a benign cyst but it took the weight off my mind and was quick and easy.

Get an ultrasound done sooner rather then later!
Your GP telling to to wait 3 mths is just crazy.
