okay. So you went to the doctor, said you didn't want the vaccine, and she said okay then, and you want to question her reasoning?
And you don't want vaccines except for if you believe that there is a immunisable disease that may affect your daughter within your community, then you want them and just that one? Did you want some information on why vaccines do not cause autism and why it's a fantastic idea to get your child immunised? Because you sound like you are very confused here. |

Why on earth would a GP just say no to a vaccine without any explanation???
I don't understand and I don't understand why you accepted that without asking more. |

I'd be getting another opinion there.
Everytime I see my GP he asks if my pap smears and immunisations are up to date! I just thought that was a question that all GPs ask as a matter of course - I thought it was the 'would you like fries with that' of the GP world! |

QUOTE I was a new patient of hers, due to have the MMR! I mentioned getting the MMR and she said no i wouldnt do it, she didnt know what my opinion was at that stage... Am assuming you actually mean your child was due to get the vaccine, not yourself ? Am astounded that any reputable GP would advise a new patient not to have the MMR vaccine when it was due - ie at 12 months and again at 4 years. With no reason given at all This post has been edited by 4kidlets: 19/04/2012, 09:54 PM |

I think APRHA should be informed about the type of information they are giving. That could be deadly advice. If it were me, I would be making a notification here:
http://www.medicalboard.gov.au/ ETA- I didn't realise this was an old thread. However, if you ever think that a GP is giving potentially dangerous advice or have another concern about them, please make a report. This post has been edited by ubermum: 09/01/2013, 08:59 AM |
