It's time an explanation was given to those who don't get it. You may still not get it after reading this, but hopefully you will understand a bit more why some do.

The rampant overuse of all things bacon and cat related did not, as it happens, start on EB.

Bacon as a meme is thought to have started with the "Press Button, Receive Bacon" comments that were often found on hand dryers with that zany graphic thing. Here are some links so you can, if you so choose, edumacate yourself a wee bit more on the subject:

Now, moving right along to cats.

No explanation required here - cats rock. Oh, and I suppose THIS would help. And THIS VIDEO is brilliant, and I can't believe I haven't seen it before.

So there you go. BaconAndCats101. It's not a secret conspiracy by an elite clique of EB members who discuss these issues purely to mock and annoy other members. As I said to another bacon fan recently - we didn't invent it, we just rather enthusiastically embraced it.

I realise there are many of you out there in Bizzarro EB Land who still don't find any of this even remotely amusing, and genuinely resent otherwise informative threads being briefly derailed by such things, and to you I can only offer my sincere apology and say that I will, for my own part, do my best to refrain unless I really, really gotta.

Deny all you want but someone actually admitted on EB the story behind the cat thing.

Bacon and cats are so boring now, they were not that funny to start with, now they are just boring. Time to find something new to be your new "funny".

Someone might of admitted to the cat UN changing, but not the WHOLE cat thing.

And why find a new funny? You people will just b**ch about it anyway.
