health care card is income not disability based. Medicare has a safety net scheme for families and singles (you need to sign up with them to make sure your on the family one). Once your expences in a calendar year reach a certain level pbs medicaitons are 100% paid for by the government. You can also apply for tax back on certain medical expenses.

Disability parking permits are based on the degree of disability and the limitations of your mobility not on just having a disability. I found this about the scheme on line: The Mobility Parking Scheme (MPS) is designed to help people with genuine mobility disabilities and is not simply for convenience. You should only apply for an MPS permit if you genuinely need one.

If you're in the situation where your disability truly limits your mobility then you can and should apply for one. Your doctor will need to fill out papers saying your mobility is limited by your illness and then the level of your disability will determine whether you can get one or not. Again it's not based on just having a disability it's based on having one severe enough that you truly deserve and need a parking permit. If this is you, just google how to apply all the info's on line.
