So there's a name I like the look/meaning/even all the pronunciations of! But I don't know what pronunciation is most correct or most popular.
If YOU have a name you like you're wondering a) correct pronunciation of, b) what people who don't really know are likely to say, c) what spelling people like best, you can post it here too. I will probably have a few different names I have questions about but for the moment: What pronunciation of Keziah would YOU use or is "most proper"? Is it: a) Keh-ZEE-ah b) Keh-ZI-ah c) KEE-zhah (two syllables to the other versions' three) as in that sound of the j in Valjean? d) Another one, maybe a hard KEE sound instead of Keh or something else I haven't thought of. I don't have a preference. I don't hate any of them. But I have heard all of them. I don't know which would be most used in Australia? I'd like to know what the "traditional," if there is one, English pronunciation is. Because since I have no preference I would use that. I thiiiink it's Keh-ZI-ah or Kee-ZI-ah. Not sure. Or don't worry about what's correct and just tell me what you do or would use. TIA. And I may be back with more names later, this one has just been bugging me. |

I think you'll find people pronouncing it KEH-zee-ah till you tell them otherwise.

I know two IRL and they're both key-zee-ah, which I think is different to your options? Emphasis on the first syllable.

I'd choose B but my friend is Kazia and she's Kazeea. Mind you she's Austrian so perhaps that's how ze Germans say eet?

I've never known one, but purely reading the name I pronounce it Kez-eye-ah, a little like how I pronounce Isaiah.
