Tomorrow I'm taking some cup cakes in for DS1 birthday so I rang to find out how many children were in his "class" on Thursdays. I was shocked to hear we need no less then 38 cakes.(they are 30 children in his room) and they need a few extra for the teacher and the one's that land on the floor.

So how many cakes do you take in?

22 in DD's class, I'd probably take 24. One for the teacher and assistant and also 24 is two dozen. Haven't had a chance yet, she is in kindy and her birthday is in June.

Just saw your ages 2-3. DD2 had about 20 in her class when she was that age. Now it would be even less (she is in 4-5 year old room at childcare).

DD's centre is licensed to have 120 children with 30 in the 2-3yo room, but currently they are short on staff, so they don't have that many.

ETA: we aren't allowed to take cakes for birthdays, but if we ask, the cook will do one.

Wowsa!! On DDs birthday there were 8, on her other day there are 6. I sent 12 cupcakes. 2-3 year old room.

Max 20, some days less than 10. Ours centre is licensed for 70 kids

2-3 year old there are over 23 kids
3-5 years old there are over 25 kids

The previous childcare there was only like 5-10 kids in 2-3 and 8 kids in 3-5.
I noticed children were dropping off so quickly, the place made me feel uncomfortable, and there was hardly any activities or toys there. crap place.

15 in DD's room if it is full. Last year when she was in the babies room they have 12 so I made 24 mini cupcakes.

DS2 is in the 4yo room, and there are 20kids.
I just fill the cupcake carrier, so 24.

Couldnt they chop them in half? kids at that age will not finish a whole cupcake...... and if they are like mine, they will just lick the icing!!!

or maybe mini cupcakes would be a better size? and you can do more of those?

2-3 room at daycare - 16 kids maximum. So that's with 2 carers. Depending on the day of the week, when DD3 was in that room, she had either 9 or 15 kids in her room.

30 kids is a lot at the age to actually have in the one room. Are they all actually in the one room, or is that the total for the age group (in maybe 2 rooms?)

oh, and yes, mini cupcakes are great for this age. Just enough cake, and your cake mix goes much further. Or you can buy the mini cupcakes from the supermarkets too.
