DS is starting to clear up, using moo goo MSM cream, eczema cream, anti fungal cream and dermaid. His skin is still so dry though.
Couldn't get the moo goo shampoo because they are out of stock. His eyes are still puffy, red and the skin is scaly. |

Moo goo makes my dd eczema worse, we have had no luck with it.
But I do like the shampoo. We use elcon, a stronger steroid which we get on a script. Pursue the allergy specialist and testing as soon as you can This post has been edited by akakabanna: 14/04/2012, 09:52 PM |

The puffiness in his eyes is a bit of a concern. I know being anaphylactic might make me a bit more edgy but I would be taking him somewhere to get it checked. Allergies start off itchy like eczema, then with hives and then can get a lot worse..not trying to scare but you should get a second opinion for him. Good luck |

I-candy The puffiness in his eyes is a bit of a concern. I know being anaphylactic might make me a bit more edgy but I would be taking him somewhere to get it checked. Allergies start off itchy like eczema, then with hives and then can get a lot worse..not trying to scare but you should get a second opinion for him. Good luck Thanks for the concern. DS did once (when living in WA) have a whole body hives, face, nose and mouth swelling where his body swelled so much that he turned blue (bruising under the skin!!!). The hospital and doctors I took him to didn't care (remember this was 10 years ago at least) and just told me to keep a watch on his breathing! We moved states (to east coast) at the tail end of this episode and haven't had anything like it since. The worst was when hives started to creep up his neck. Due to the east winds at his first attack I think it had something to do with the wheat belt ( mum used to suffer hay fever back then and she was really bad at the same time as well!). Right now I just think it is bad air born allergies. Actually his allergies have got a hell of a lot worse since he started high school. His eyes are horrible I researched high schools for DS, only thing I didn't research is allergies. DS is at a semi rural all boys day/boarding school. Basically his school is in the middle of cow paddocks with the most amazing grounds that are constantly being mowed akakabanna moo goo is the only thing DS has responded to in the various stuff I've tried over the years. |

Are you anywhere near Canberra? I bought some great cream from a lady at the farmers markets there that has cleared up my eczema and has also helped a friends psoriasis. My son is also allergic to dust mites, grasses etc etc and I use it any time he has a flareup or hives. It has EV Olive Oil in it. Have just googled it, they have a website http://www.homeleighgroveolives.com.au/SkinCareProducts.htm Good to know as I'm interstate and will be needing more soon!
