Has anyone had the flu injection? I know it is recommended in pregnant women. I have two GP's. One of them said he wouldn't give it to pregnant women. The other said she was happy to give it to me but then we began discussing other matters so she didn't give it to me. I'm not too worried. I dont know how comfortable I feel having it anyway??

I had the jab last year in my first trimester. It is recommended to pregnant women. Was absolutely fine.
I've just had this years jab and the site was a little itchy for a few days (like a mozzie bite). |

I am not pregnant but I have had the flu jab this year-all I had was a sore arm for about a week. I have chronic illness and along with pregnant women etc it is recommended.

I have been jabbed every year, regardless of whether I am pregnant or not. Just had mine today coincidentally

I am in the first trimester and my Dr (who is also pg) has encouraged me to get it. Her justification is that you are immuno-suppressed when pregnant so are more susceptible to the flu

Had it with DS2 (think it was the swine flu one????) and he is fine. Had the flu vax 2 weeks ago when I was 29 weeks. I also had last years in my first trimester at 8 weeks. My ob said many have 2 during pregnancy 1 a year.

I had mine a couple of weeks ago...definately safe & recommended in pregnancy. But it's an individual choice.

| I had post of the day once, until GQ took it away | |

I had it at work (major hospital) last week, my ob recommended it due to the serious outcomes from swine flu.
Eta- the fact that I was likely to be exposed was a big thing for me. I don't normally get the flu shot. This post has been edited by tinkster23: 11/04/2012, 11:19 PM |
