Hi. My 16month old needs a heavy blanket or sleeping bag for night. It is getting cold here and although I dress him in a tracksuit, he is still getting very cold. What do I get him to use? He doesn't get the whole pulling a blanket up so that isn't really an option. We are in brisbane so please any advice and where to get the things you suggest would be great.

Grobags are fantastic. They have a 6-18 month size and a 18 -36 month size, which would be the better size for your son as it'll last him longer.
They're nice and warm, comfortable and wash brilliantly, don't lose shape etc. I just put my little girl in her pj's and then in the bag and that's all she has. She can't kick if off, so she doesn't get cold. ETA: Look around for them on sale online. You can also get them from DJ's and probably some baby shops. However, online might be cheaper. They're not cheap. However, they'll last for a couple years. Toddlers become quite adept at walking around the house in a sleeping bag ;-) This post has been edited by roses99: 11/04/2012, 12:08 PM |

DD is in a sleep bag. I have picked them up from Target, Big W and best and less (i'm not sure which of those you have in Brisbane) Underneath she wears flannette pjs and socks. She feels nice and toastie when I get her up in the morning.

I'm a sleeping bag user. I love them! DD would just kick off any blankets as she moves so much.
I just use the ones from Best & Less. They keep her nice and warm and they cost about $20. This post has been edited by PurpleChicken: 11/04/2012, 02:06 PM |

Does anyone put hats or beanies on babies while sleeping?
I'm sure it is a SIDS risk but does anyone know? |

I just bought a fleece all in one jump suit from target. Its long sleeved, long legged with socks. On cold nights we put a top undeneath. It was $22.
I have a thick red sleeping bag that may fit, we took it to the UK for ds. Are you interested in second hand. Pm me if so. BMAP - I was told the same thing. It is how they regulate their temp if they are too hot. No hats here. This post has been edited by pinkpeony: 11/04/2012, 02:18 PM |

Watching with interest. I am wondering about what to get for my 4 month old and I'm not sure whether to go for something more expensive like a Grow Bag or a Bond's Snuggle Suit or whether to just go the polar fleece version.
