I don't know exactly where this topic fits in... its more me wanting to write this all down as it is swirling round and round in my head and causing me to freak out a bit.

I have a beautiful 13 month old. He was very planned, very wanted and came along after 1 month of ttc. I love him to pieces but I don't feel like parenting has come naturally to me. The thought of a second scares the bajesus out of me. It is something I knew would happen eventually. Just not now.

Fast forward to today. After a date miscalculation, and a moment of stupidity, I believe I am pregnant. I am too scared to take a pregnancy test in case it comes out positive. I have the symptoms, but am a bit suspicious they might be imaginary. I know the only way to know is to take a pregnancy test.

I am freaking out at the thought of two under two. DH, at first was a bit shocked, but now is really excited and just can't see why I am so freaked.

Just needed to get it out of my head, and hopefully someone, anyone out there who may have been through the same thing, or something similar, might have some advice to help me come to terms with my situation.

hugs to you! go buy a test for sure. your husband sounds excited and you are just probably going into mum mode - making lists and thinking of logistics etc.

i feel for you. back in 2009 i wasnt feeling too good either. did a test and we were expecting. [ was pretty obvious considering i was pretty tired and green!] and then at 19 week mark we discovered we were expecting 2 little surprise boys!

life has never been the same but i wouldnt change it for the world!twice as many kisses and special moments with two little ones.

try not to panic and over think. everything always sorts itself out. i always feel better after a bit of list making and getting my head onto paper.

please do a test!

Oh wow! Go get the test. I concieved DD2 when DD1 was 13 months and its not that we didnt plan in but didnt expect it hapen that quick as DD1 took a yr. We were both a bit surprised and nervous. Best thing we ever did! DD2 was a very welcomed addition by the time she was born and parenting came so much easier the second time. She 2.5 yrs now and its been so much easier this time around all the way through. Poor DD1 didnt get the benefit of the experience

I agree with PP's. Go and get tested for peach of mind.

My DD2 was born when DD1 was 20 months old. Sure I freaked out but I personally thought it was a little easier and now that they are older and so close in age they play together so well.

Go and get the test!! Better to know for sure than to keep wondering!!

DD2 was conceived when DD1 was only 4 or 5 months old, which was just crazy!! More crazy considering DD1 was a cesarean, and I wasn't sure everything that was cut open had healed!!! But sure enough, DD2 was born absolutely perfect, by another cesarean (so definitely no more for us!), and we love her exactly the same!

Believe it or not, it's actually easier, well for us anyway, to have two children! They keep each other entertained and we often get time for ourselves during the day!!

DD1 was 14 mths old when I found out that No 2 was on it's way.

This was definately a surprise and when I told DH the first words out of his mouth was that this is a F$%&ing disaster (we laugh about this now!!!)

We had decided that 1 was enough for us.

Anyway, DD2 is now 18 mths old and is an absolute delight. I agree the second child seems to be easier and just somehow fits in with the family and it's like they were always there.

Take a test and see what the result is and go from there.
