Ok, so we've had our excitement for the year and everyone from here to Timbucktu knows about EB's spinoffs. Yesterday's news.

So for today's news:

All that chatter had me going down memory lane. Back to when I first joined EB in 2005. I remember that I lurked for awhile, but my very first post was when I was in labour with DD - I replied to someone asking about the Trade Practices Act and whether shopkeepers could actually refuse to refund your money if there was a problem with what was purchased. Now that has to show some level of commitment to EB! tongue.gif

Anyway, I went to my current post history and started reading old replies from way back when, and going into old threads that reminded me of what EB used to be like. My first post this time round was:

QUOTE
I'd write to the City of Melbourne Council General Manager about it and clearly explain the situation as you have here. If that has no positive resolution then I'd go to the local paper/radio station.

And my first thread was about:

QUOTE
Children who attend Preschool have the best chance at a prosperous life.
unsure.gif

So what is the first post in your post history, and what was your first thread? biggrin.gif

And what is the most memorable thread that you've participated in?

What fresh hell is this?
My first post was this

QUOTE
I've had no problem at all with Clarks for first shoes once your baby is walking. My little girl wears hers whenever she's out and they are great. THe one thing I would say though is to get them properly fitted. Shoes and Sox is very good (and they also sell socks that are 90+% cotton, unlike a lot you can get). Otherwise, I've found David Jones good or a traditional shoe store.
in a thread about First Shoes. I lurked for a few months before I posted.

My most memorable threads would have to be the meme thread, and also the soshal cheese thread ph34r.gif

Great idea.

I did not venture out of my due in group then mothers group here for quite some years. Many of those have moved on, some of them were quite incredible people.

My first thread on this version is about nappies for skinny babies, which was may 2003. So DS was 6 mths.

The next one was in I assume working parents (which now calls itself party plan) about me going back to work when Ds was 16 mths. There was no way I would have posted that in party plan.

there is also a weird/funny thread of mine "where is the egg" where ds brought to me one egg, and when I put the dozen back, one was missing. Interestingly one of the people who posted in it was Mahalia, and a very nice post from Franny

Funnily enough my first post was about walkers and why I hadn't bought a walker as they were not recommended. this was before DS was born, and my opinion hasn't changed

None of my mothers group, due in group posts are showing.

I would be finding a behavioural optometrist. This is someone who specialises in the behaviour of eyes of children. They can be found in your normal optometrist.

Love the idea...interesting looking back at my posting history. I am chronically lazy when it comes to posting because I am either on my phone or have my netbook on my lap and it is too awkward to type more then a couple of sentences the way I like to sit.

Has anyone used Zappy nappies? They are sold at Eumundi Markets near Noosa, QLD and online.

They look great but I don't know anyone who has used them before.

My first topic back in Feb 2010....amusing considering I wasn't pregnant and still haven't been. sad.gif I was in the full on planning stage back then never dreaming that I wouldn't just fall pregnant the moment we TTC.

QUOTE
First time poster but have been lurking around on EB for a while.

DH and I are TTTC. We are currently building a house which I think is stressing me out (issues with the building company) and sapping my willpower to eat healthy. Implanon will come out in June and I am going to the dr's in March for a pre-pregnancy check-up. Scary as I know he will want to weigh me.

So, I am hoping by psoting on here and reading other people's journeys it may motivate me as nothing else seems to motivate me to do more then think about losing weight.

This was my first post plus the ever scary- weight stats lol which I won't repeat here in the limelight. It was in a Plus size living thread also in Feb 2010. I think was nit long after I actually signed up, lurked for a while before that.

I can't find mine as it was an old user name I had deleted.

DS was not yet born so it was early 2004 and I was researching what pram to buy and stumbled across the Product Reviews section.

I will admit for a long long time I had no idea there were actually more sections on EB other than the product review one blush.gif

Once I dIscovered the rest of this place I spent days and nights reading all I could!

Great idea Heffalump original.gif

My first post that I can find (as my membership went awry during one of the forum software upgrades in the Teal days) was this:
QUOTE
Hi,
Does anyone know of the earliest possible time you would see a heartbeat on an ultrasound? I had an external and internal one done on Friday, both of which was too early to see a heartbeat at an estimated gestation of 5 weeks 6 days. Has anyone had a heartbeat show up at that time?

They found a heartbeat and DD will turn 9 at the end of the month happy.gif

My posts for the year or so before that would have been about TTC and secondary infertility.
