QUOTE (Fingers Crossed!! @ 11/04/2012, 03:44 PM) *
Hi ladies

Sorry this post is all about me but I'm a bit upset and in shock at the moment and just need your thoughts if thats ok?

So I had my blood tests a week or two ago and my doctor told me (over the phone) that they were "fine". I just had my ultrasound and was told I had "polycystic ovaries" with about 15/16 cysts on each ovary - the doctor told me not to worry as plenty of women have this without even knowing and conceive fine but I might need to start on clomid etc....

Jeez I really didnt expect this as not overweight, look after myself etc etc but I suppose you can never tell whats going on internally!! I have a follow up doctors appointment tomorrow morning to find out more but for now it looks like I might have to go the AC route......

Sorry a bit choked up about it all!

Sorry to hear this sad.gif Hope you feel better once you've read up on it, especially in relation to coming off BC. Let us know how it all goes original.gif

Fingers Crossed, I'm sure you will find LOTS of ladies here to help you, as PCOS seems to be quite common. In fact, I have 3 close friends who all have it, and they all have children.

After trying for quite a while, once they found out that they actually had it, they went on clomid, and fell pregnant, problem solved original.gif

As with everything though, I'm sure it's not as easy for everyone. But there is hope, and from experience (listening to my friends stories), a lot of women fall pregnant quickly after diagnosis and treatment (clomid).

'Fingers Crossed!! - I'm so sorry you didn't get good news. But like the others have said, poly cystic ovaries are quite common, and may not be that serious. Try not to worry too much!

Sunshiney - that sucks about your mum. My parents give me a lecture every time I see them about how much they want grandchildren, and how wonderful children are and we are really missing out by not having any. If they brought it up in private, I might tell them we are trying, but they only ever mention it in front of a crowd and I don't feel comfortable with everyone knowing!

AFM - my temp dropped below the cover line this morning. I'm 12DPO. I am new to this charting business, but from what I understand, this means I am out for the month. I'm feeling pretty down about it, more than I have in previous months. For the first time, I am starting to wonder if there is something wrong with one of us, and I'm getting impatient!

I found out the other day that my friend's SIL is pregnant - she got married in January, started trying straight away, and was pregnant first cycle. I wanted to cry when I heard.

Fingers Crossed - I also have PCO (without the S) which was picked up on an ultrasound a few yrs ago. My GP told me at the time that since I had pretty regular cycles and none of the other PCOS symptoms that I wouldn't necessarily have any problems conceiving. Mind you, I have now had 9 unsuccessful months of ttc and my cycles have been all over the place for the last few months, so maybe things have changed for me. Hopefully you will be able to get a BFP without clomid. bbighug.gif

FingersCrossed - don't despair! bbighug.gif While finding out that something is up is scary and devastating... PCO is very common and many people successfully treat it naturally. If you're not overweight and already look after yourself, hopefully that means it shouldn't take much extra work to get your body back to 100% healthy. And knowing what the issue is that you have to work on is far better than the docs not being able to find anything medically wrong - you have something to focus on.

Big hugs for your docs visit tomorrow. If you have time beforehand, maybe do some googling and read up on it so that you can take in a list of questions for your doc. Plus there'll be heaps of ladies on EB who can direct you to the best websites to read up on it and your treatment choices.

xx

Hi girls waves.gif

Well I went for my bloods yesterday and should find out levels, etc tomorrow. Little nervous and kinda excited so keeping my FX. The doctors giving me a referral for ultrasound at about 7weeks (only 2 weeks away). Since getting my BFP I have been feeling a little off but nothing I can't handle yet. I had a close friend over for dinner last night and decided to tell her (and only her), she started crying she was so happy which was really sweet.

So today's my birthday and I thought I'd re-test just to see it again, make sure it was still there, and the test line came up so much faster than the control line yay!

Just thought I'd share what we did this month:
- We BD'd around 5pm (as per Sunshineys suggestion from the JC) and also did it doggy style 2x out of 4 leading up to O
- We BD'd all 3 days before O and on the day of O
- I hardly ever have EWCM that I physically see so we have previously used preseed but I didn't have any applicators left so just used some externally. I guess this means even if you don't see the CM it can still be up there original.gif
- I drank green tea leading up to O and then swapped to BIABP's drink of choice - lemon, ginger, honey mmmmmmmm
- I took my regular Blackmores multi and an extra B6 vitamin all cycle and continued with my once a week acupuncture (I didn't do any of the homework though)

I think that's it really, hope this helps!

I'll let you all know how my bloods go and I really hope we get some more BFP's, I wanna take you all with me bbighug.gif

Wow this is a busy post! Just had to do a lot of catch up reading.

Congrats to those who got their BFPs!!

FingersCrossed - I'm so sorry for the bad news. Hope the doctors appointment is helpful. Will you let us know how it goes.

Sunshiney - your SIL is bugging me! Hope you're doing okay.

Katie11 - can you please add me to waiting to o

AFM - finally in the fertile window original.gif (assuming a somewhat normal cycle) I swear the last two weeks have been the slowest ever but I have a feeling the the next two weeks might be slower still. Start back at uni on Monday so it will be nice to be back in routine.
