DF swans in to nab gold laughing2.gif nice work original.gif

We are home, Ted has a whole lotta pooing to do! As my dr said they won't try and enema him so hes got stuff to make him go, stuff to make it soft and stuff to numb his bum. Poor thing, he has an a n a l fissure so he's in pain (despite no blood at all to give it away). Apparently the healing time varies wnormously.

On that delightful note I am about to eat something and go to bed! Poor little Ted.

Dinosaurus - so glad to hear they found something with Teddy. Not pleasant but at least now it can be treated. Good luck, poor Teddy.

DinoJ - you and Teddy have my total sympathy. It is not fun having poo issues. Worse when they are so little and you can't ask questions nor explain to them what is going on. Thinking of you both.

Oh, and I hope this doesn't sound wrong, but I hope this discovery is a good one and its resolution over time will also improve Teddy's sleeping behaviour. Pain and discomfort can certainly disrupt sleeping patterns.

Thanks ladies original.gif

Mama bug - doesn't sound wrong at all, it is exactly what we were thinking, it made no sense to us that our previously good sleeper had stopped with no apparent reason. Hopefully now I've got a ton of stuff for him we can get him better, although we are now a bit worrid about his growth as this almost certainly means a loss of weight which will mean he's been losing weight for two months.

In other news, he's desperately trying to crawl - I give him a week max before he's off. Assuming he doesn't get concussion from constantly throwing himself forwards every time you put him down!

DF - How is Oreo going now?
Mama - house, kids, reno's...?
MBS - I don't want to ask, but how is the third question going? Perhaps you could do what Goosey did and fluke it!

Love to all. Xx

Dino - Teddy is a robust lad. Even with my flyweights, there wasn't a great deal of concern over a weight "stall" due to other issues. MasterBug was chronically sick before he had his adenotonsillectomy just after his third birthday. His lack of weight never seemed to bother the gp or paed, even though he had struggled to put it on from birth (at five he now weighs a respectable 15kg - the same as his 3yo sister!).

But, if he is that backed up, some of his weight shouldn't be there anyway!!! The best thing you can do is address the impaction, keep his food intake nutritious, and he will come good. Once he is feeling well and functioning well, he will start to gain weight again.

AFM - um. No, the house has not sold. Kids all healthy, but have a snuffle. Renos...well...I m not sure how any marriage survives even the discussion stage of renovations, let alone the actual event!!! Himself and I keep discovering that my idea of re-doing the kitchen and his are two different things. He thinks we should replicate the lovely 80s light peach/dark beige look by having a couple of cupboards doors fixed.

We will need a whole scetion of cabinetry redone to accommodate the new wall oven and cooktop, so I figure if almost half of the cupboards have to be remade, why not rejuvenate all of them?

Problem is we have a budget of $8000 and he thinks the new cupboards will take half of this. I disagree as I want to replace the doors, not the carcass. A problem is we have massive sheets of peachy stuff facing into the dining room on the breakfast bar, and boxing in the fridge area which will need to be 'rejuventated' to match and Himself is stressing at what that will cost. Of course, all of his assumptions are based on NEVER having renovated a kitchen before. I am of the mindframe that we get a couple of people in to quote and we take it from there - no point saying we can't do something before we know what we can afford. We already own the stove, oven and new sink, so they don't need to be included in the budget. We are thinking of getting the cheapest benchtop available and then doing a Grantie Transformation overlay to get the balance between budget and look...but again, depends on quote, otherwise it is formica/laminex.

We had an all in barney discussing the future of the main bathroom - a job that will need to be done in the next five years, so I am happy to get quotes now as a target for saving. But he wants to do the bodgiest of coverups and call it a renovation. I recon there is no point in spending up to $3k now and then still needing to re-do most of it again in a few more years (when the kids will be older and costing more!). I'd rather wait a bit longer and do a better job once. Again, he doesn't care what it looks like as long as it is functional - and that is after the "reno". glare.gif

I don't see why it can't be both functional and bearable...if not downright appealing. Deep breath - maybe I should put this in the home and garden thread???

On a positive note, though, we painted the Biggest Bugs' room yesterday, it is a vision of pink and green biggrin.gif . Today I will do a good vaccum as we have pulled all the furniture into the midddle, clean all the cupboards down properly, wash the windows before we put the curtains back up, clean the mirrored wardrobe door. Then put everything back and make the beds with the new pink and green sheets I bought and put on the new bright, stripy quilt covers I managed to find to tie in the walls and the toybox/bedside drawers which are bold red, yellow, blue and purple. And the two layers of curtains which are yellow/gold underneath and blue thermal-backed ones on top.

Um...it looks better than it sounds, honest!!! I m very excited as this is the first time we have completely re-done a room in the three houses and 16 years we have been together. The Bugs' have been banned from the room and slept on the sofa bed last night (a great school holiday adenture for them), and I just hope they are even remotely as excited as me when we do the big "ta-dah"!

Er...sorry about the epic boring-ness of this post...obviously I needed to get it all more than I thought I did. I started typing and just couldn't stop!!!! blush.gif

Dino that's just awful for Teddy (and you) but I'm so glad they know what's going on & have a plan in place. Fingers crossed it all resolves soon & Teddy can go back to sleeping well again. Very exciting almost crawling too!

Mama just get some quotes done & don't discuss it further with Himself till you have them to look at & have concrete options to choose from. I agree with you, you should spend the money now if you're planning to stay where you are. I think the room sounds brilliant, any pics?

Having a sh*te time with Caelan atm, tantrums, defiance lack of regard for consequences until the consequences happen then bigger tantrums ensue. Carys is becomming impossible to spoon feed, she demands to do it herself then proceeds to fling it everywhere & take an age to do so. She's been needing resettling at nights again and is still waking for a feed anywhere from 4.30-6 and on average sleeps for approx 20-30 mins total during the day so I'm pretty tired. I've started fantasising about running away somewhere far far away. This morning I was standing at the bins curbside cramming them full of random broken down cardboard boxes & styrofoam pieces and sobbing and realised that it was the best part of my day so far sad.gif

Soldier on soldier on soldier on.

Oh TNMN. sad.gif

I saw the GP today and got a mental health plan so I can re-connect with my counsellor. I'm not at the sobbing stage everyday yet, but I have lost the ability to focus and remember anything important - including the fact that I was meant to see the GP yesterday and forgot. huh.gif

I can't even manage to keep the kitchen under control. I just look at it and seeing dishes in the sink (even though we have a dishwasher) completely overwhelms me. The kids room is still a mess as I looked at it this morning and just couldn't bear the thought of going in there and doing what needs doing.

Even this very moment I have three children screaming and yelling at each other while they are supposed to be colouring in. How can colouring in be a combat sport? At what point will they actually TALK to each other instead of whinge and yell??

So, the point if my post, TNMN is to say I feel for you, very much so. You need to make sure you take care of yourself. You are a priority, okay?
