Congratulations and welcome Dizzy original.gif So long since we had a new born (is it Peanut last?) oh, then there's Mrs Cee. Hmm, ok forget I saif that!

Good luck with the breast feeding, it takes a while to get used to but is well worth it in the end (if only for the money saved!) And most babies sort the day/night around in the first 2 weeks - which I know seems an eternity now but trust me will fly by!

Hooray!

Oi, thyroid gurus...need some thoughts.

So, as you may have noticed, I have had PND in the past and am starting to slip down again. Last time gp tested thyroid and iron levels. Iron okay, thyroid came back at high normal/marginal. He said that wasn't a problem and there was no further or follow-up testing or monitoring.

Have seen new gp and told him this. He is checking: full blood count, vit D, b12, folate, liver, kidney and thyroid function.

Do you, in your non-medical opinions, think that a high/marginal thyroid level should have been followed up or further investigated, or even considered to be "not normal" for an individual if they were showing marked signs of depression???

I wasn't in the right place to question it all last time, but am this time!! Only had the b/t today, so will have to wait for results. (My lucky blood is off to Sydney, shame I wasn't going with it!!!)

I think it should have been followed up but am not at all surprised that it wasn't. It's seems to be increasingly common that GP's are doing pretty much a tick & flick with their patients. Gosh that sounds cynical & bitter doesn't it? I suppose they're under a lot of pressure with high case loads & think if they followed every avenue of possibility with every patient they'd only manage to see a few patients per day. Still, some things warrant more routine investigation than they usually get.

Hi Ladies,

I graduated from PAM last month and now would love to join you wonderful ladies.

Ella Patricia was born 22 March at 1.55pm. She is doing really well, sleeping well and loves her bottle. I can't believe how fast she is growing...she has now grown out of some of her 0000 clothes cry1.gif .

Looking forward to getting to know you all!!

Yay!!! Another delicious newborn! We were geting a bit low on squishy little new ones (and may I take this opportunity to commend the dedication of some of our grads who have worked tirelessly to produce our first Postgraduate babies to remedy this situation).

Welcome and congratulations jens on the safe arrival of Ella. original.gif

DinoJ - I bet I've got more goats than any of the rest, so Ladybug gets first dibs on Teddy biggrin.gif

And yes, keep going with the movicol. It isn't a one off, it is a couple of months thing to enable the bowel to resize after being stretched from the blockage and enable the muscle/feeling stuff to all start working together again. Then wean him off it. With the Biggest Bug it was daily for some weeks, then every second day for one week, then every third day for another week before we stopped. Has been good since then.

As for coming and putting me straight, I have been eyeing off reduced airfares to Melbourne....and checking out my miliner's website. She has a salon in the CBD that I have not seen - but she knows my size and taste and last time I needed a posh hat I just posted the dress and shoes down and the outfit came back with a hat!!!
