Bye.

I will miss you guys!!!

I have been on Eb for about 6 1/2 years now. ZOMG!!!

I was actually a pretty prolific poster on here for about 4 or 5 years. Met some awesome peeps, had some great arguments and have gained some awesome friends and excellent enemies.

I have met some really cool people here and am in touch with a bunch of them on FB or in real life. Some of them can even guess my sh*t in Draw Something and there is really nothing I can say that could equal the admiration I feel for these people. Nothing. wub.gif (I draw very very badly)

EB has really lost its appeal for me. The moderation has changed. A lot. I realise it probably had to when it started being noticed for how popular it was to Fairfax. The fun arguments and sparring, the back and forward b**chiness and the seriously interesting discussion has been pretty much halted over the last year.

Instead we get a sanitised, 'women friendly', 'parent friendly', slightly more intellectual Bubhub.

Threads are closed before they get interesting even in the relatively free-for-all general areas.

For me though the fun of EB was being able to converse, argue and discuss the weirdest and most argumentative issues with women who were able to throw a verbal punch, duck one back and then continue the sparring while we all looked on or gave our own tentative hits back.

EB seems to have turned into one vast mob. When someone posts a disagreeing opinion they are not felled swiftly, they are hammered. And hammered. And hammered. While everyone gets a chance to feel superior. Then the thread is closed. OR the thread is closed before anyone says anything. Then removed from view so everyone is all WTF?

It is either mob rule or moderator rule and while I can't quite work out which is happening on any given day, or which is worse. I don't really care. Either is boring as hell.

Slamming the idiots who come in with racism or slurs against the disabled (or more likely incorrect terminology) holds even less interest for me than reading about the best washing machine powder or whether other peoples husbands wipe their c*ck after they have a p*ss.

The vast proliferation of spin off fora relating to EB also kind of stuns and amazes me.

From the lofty heights of the pseudo intellectuals; women who enjoy analyzing the motives of posters that even the posters themselves would have been in total shock about.

To the nasty depths of the forums created for the sole purpose to copy, paste and b*tch about members on here in an environment without moderation.

Where women who have esteem issues and weight loss surgery deserve a horrible 30 pages worth of obsessive, revolting posts discussing them and chasing them all over the internet. Posting personal critiques about their weight, their looks, their families etc. All on the premise of 'YOU PUT IT OUT THERE B*TCH, YOU TAKE IT!". And then getting so offended when EB has a coding issue that they threaten legal action (????). Pure insanity. These are women who could honestly tell you what a controversial poster had for breakfast 4 years ago and if their husband had ever strayed. Just scary scary women who honestly and truly DO invest way too much in this place.

Anyway, this has turned into a rant and really, the fact that I get at least 7 flashing, moving ads on every page probably also have a sh*tload to do with why I am leaving Tounge1.gif Drives me absolutely CRAZY (and I cannnot put adblock on as I need it for my own site ads etc.)

Sorry for the big attention wh*re goodbye post.
But I started as an attention wh@re, I posted for years being unafraid of attention and f#ck it, I will finish as one too.

So yeah.

Bye and thanks for all the b*tch Tounge1.gif

I was thinking the other day why I don't seem to bother visiting EB anymore. It's not as fun as it used to be.

WOW! great post... i think this place will miss someone like you... unfortunatley I think everything you mentioned in your post is true sad.gif although I didnt know about all the attacking that goes on on other forums - that is so nasty and those women obviously dont have much else going on in their lives.

All the best

All is well, Life is good!
Very well said.

I too left for a few years for many of those reasons you mentioned, although now that I am back, I find it to be WORSE than before and will proberly drop on and off again as I please.

Some women seriously have nothing better to do, which is terribly sad.

Take care and best wishes.
