Hi girls,
Hoping this is the right place to ask this. I know that the time from D & C to getting your next period varies from person to person, but my question is, how heavy/long was it compared to your regular cycles. I had my D & C 4 weeks ago tomorrow, so technically im due AF soon, (although my cycles are usually closer to the 32 day atm) but overnight i have had a heavy period pain come and go on one side. I know my body and know its a pain assosiated with girly things. Should i expect a heavy period? I just took some nurofen and might grab a heat pack. I havent actually got my period yet, just the pains. Thanks. spotty. |

Sorry for your loss. It took exactly 5 weeks for my period to return after my D & C following a miscarriage. It was the same as my usual period would be, no extra pain or anything. Hope yours returns soon. I've heard you are very fertile after a D & C/miscarriage. Not sure if it's true or not but my friend fell pregnant first cycle. I chose to wait a month (one period) and fell pregnant first cycle after that. Good luck!

I had a D&C after my m/c and got my AF about 30 days after (usual 28 day cycle). My AF lasted about 7 days, which is longer than my usual 4 day AF, and it was not any heavier or lighter than before. My AF the next month came 28 days later.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Spotty xox |

It took me 6 weeks to the day for my HCG to drop to 0 and AF to return, but that was after a partial molar pregnancy.
It was no heavier than usual, but the cramps on day 1 really hit hard. Like Mack truck hard. Hopefully that was a one off, not a permanent change.. |

I had my D&C early in the month and then got my AF as per usual cycle at the end of the month but it was very light, bleeding only lasted 2 days, but the cramping was more severe than usual.
I am waiting for AF at the end of this month to see if it will return to normal. I had also heard about super fertility after - my doctor told me stories of people becoming pregnant 2 weeks after D&C so to be super cautious. Sorry about your loss. Hi spottydog
Just wanted to share that I'm also waiting for my first AF after D&C. Today is the 36th day for me. I wish it would just come! I'm actually a little bit concerned that I may be pregnant. We were careful the first couple if times, but then got lazy. We were told to hold off TTC till I got my period. I'm not feeling pregnant, so hopefully I will get AF soon. Am trying to resist the urge to do a HPT. Hope you get your AF soon and restart your journey. I wish you all the best. |

Hi Ladies I'm waiting for my first period after miscarriage too although I didnt have a D&C.
Why is it a bad thing if your pg already? I know Dr's recommend waiting but I dont think there is anything to show that it is a bad thing. When my midwife told me to wait til after I get my first period I asked why will it mean I can miscarry again she said 'No its just generally recommended so that you give your body a chance to heal emotionally and physically and also for dates'.. Hopefully we all dont have to wait too long |

Thanks everyone, i appreciate your input.
My period hasnt come yet, im on CD 29 today after my D & C. We cant be pregnant because we have to use IVF because we cant concieve naturally, so there was no talk of not TTC etc after the D & C, because our FS just said to call when i was next ready to transfer. To the PP who could be Pregnant, have you done a HPT? Good luck. spotty. |
