Hi All!

Lost my mucous plug on Thursday and yesterday I had my bloody show. Just on and off lower ab and lower back pain, but nothing really. Yesterday though, I had stabbing pains in the lower vaginal area that literally stopped me dead in my tracks, and sometimes that was in conjunction with that dull lower ab and lower back pain. That was sporadic though, and there was also tightness at the time.

How long were you waiting after your bloody show, for labour to start?

I'm 39 weeks today. I had a membrane sweep last Tuesday and as of then was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced.

Cheers!

How exciting for you!!!

I lost my plug on the Tues, had a bloody show on the Wed and then woke Thur 4.30 am with LABOUR pains..........beautiful bubba boy was born 5.30am on the Fri.

Its different for everyone but things are sounding positive for you to go into labour anytime.

All the very best for the birth!

With my first baby I had a show around my due date and DD was born a week later. I was so bummed waiting that long. Good sign that you are having some dull pains at least, I had nothing at all. Sounds like there is some movement at least.

Hope your bub arrives soon

Nothing happening at all since then. Everything seems to have happened except for breaking of waters and real contractions.

Oh well, we wait!

Hey there!

Yes, night before last. Will have to again then hahahahaha!!!! Got really significant period pain type feeling afterwards, but it petered out. LOL!

Have had a LOT of clear mucous since the loss of plug and the bloody show. So things must be moving in the right direction.

Dilation and effacement cannot reverse can they? I mean, I was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced last Tuesday, so it's not like that would have gone backwards, no?

No they can't original.gif
The cervix can get swollen and appear to go backwards in labour but it is not a muscle that opens and shuts, it closes after the uterus empties.
Is baby's head right down?

Waiting for news!
