Imagine there's a topic you really want to discuss on EB, because it's interesting to you or whatever. You do a quick search to see if it's been recently discussed because you know, you don't want to be too annoying. You see that there is a similar topic in the past few months, or even weeks, and even more similar topics earlier than that. You read them, but it doesn't scratch that itch. You want to contribute to the subject, and you want to hear new opinions (because in a few weeks or months, who knows how many new members have joined EB, right? Or missed this thread at the time?)

So, which unspoken rule of EB would you break - resurrect an old thread (weeks or months old - or even years!), or start a new thread on a subject that has been done many times already?

Which annoys you more? Or don't you care? I've noticed lots of comments along the lines of "Why did you resurrect this old thread?" and "This topic has been done to death" so I figure some people must care! Do you bother checking if there are any old threads on the same subject?

FTR, I don't have a specific topic in mind, I'm just curious about which choice annoys people more/less.
