I am 14 DPO with temperatures still nice and high, creamy CM and no spotting and no cramps. I normally start spotting at 12 DPO so all of these signs are good news. Basically at this stage there are no signs of AF making an appearance which is unusual for me.

I tested this morning using an internet cheapie OPK and get nice positive result, so using the same sample of urine I tested using an internet cheapie HPT but got a very clear negative result . . . not even a shadow of a line!

A few hours later I tested (with a new urine sample) using a First Response HPT but once again got a clear negative, not even a shadow of a line.

None of the tests were done with FMU.

Anyone experienced anything similar before? Why would the OPK be positive and not the HPT? I thought that if there was enough of the hormone for the OPK to react the same would be for the HPT.

Here is my chart.

I looked at your chart thinking that the +OPK probably ment you are having a late ovulation. Whats the reason behind all of the open circle temps? If you take out the +OPK on CD14 does FF still give you cross hairs?

The open circle temps indicate that the temperature may be slightly inaccurate, the temperature is plotted by FF using a circle instead of a dot. FF says in their Q & A that these points do not need to be discarded. The circle will just indicate to the reader areas on the chart where the data may be less accurate. These temps were ones that were taken at different time of the morning due to my son waking earlier.

This is what happens if I take out the positive OPK on CD 13 but it still doesn't explain the positive OPK I am getting today.

Probably just too early to test OP, some people don't get positives till AF is weeks late. Looking through your charts, I would wait till 17 dpo to test again as you've had AF that late before & if it's still neg then think about getting bloods done after 20dpo. Best of luck

Your temps are too high for ovulation.
As for the + opk there is always some lh in our bodies not normally enough for strong result. Just wait it out and see what happens.

I am in a similar boat. Af due yesterday, 16 dpo, as normal but still waiting.

Good luck

OPK's will turn positive if your pregnant, but it can also just be a bit of extra LH in your system. Some people have a normal level very close to the test sensitivity, so a tiny spike might put it over. I assume by positive you mean darker than the control line?

explanation if your interested tongue.gif : LH and hCG are, at a molecular level, nearly identical, there is a slight extra part to the hcG molecule. An OPK tests only for the part of the molecule that LH and hCG have in common. So OPK's measure LH and hCG but you can't tell which caused it to turn positive. Hope it's a BFP.

brazen boldness
sorry that AF came

As for open circles and inaccuracies, it would always be better to temp correct if you wake at a different time - will give a more accurate chart.

VIP FF has a temp correct feature. If you don't have VIP then you add 0.11 degrees for each hour you wake too early, or subtract 0.11 degrees for each hour you wake too late.
