Yeah I wouldn't. It's nice to have some individuality amongst your kids surely?

I think it's lovely and a great link to have between brothers.

All of our children (and all of DPs family) male and female share the same middle name. It's a family name and a lovely connection. No reason why they can't both have John

I wok with a woman whose 2 sons have their father's name for the middle name.

I think it's lovely - at first I thought it was strange though.

I don't think it's strange.

My nephews both have my brothers name as their middle name. We never call them by both their first and middle names.

Majority of males in DF's grandmothers family share the same middle name. This goes back quite a few generations.

All three of my kids (all girls) have the same middle name. It is actually an onld english surname (my "maiden" name) I dont think its weird at all, but then again, I would be happy to have not given them a middle name at all, I think they are pretty superfulous.

My children all have the same middle name (Rylan) which is my maiden name. It was my way of having my family reflected in their names as they have DH's surname.

Someone I work with has 4 kids and the first & second one have the same middle name, then the third and 4th ones have the same middle name (but not the same as the 1st & 2nd).

I don't think they are family names - they just wanted a link between the kids.

Its not something I would do though - I think there are plenty of nice names out there without having to repeat.

My sisters and I have the same middle name, aswell as my mother and her mother, by coincidence it is also my dads sisters middle name also.

I hated it growing up, I would have preferred to be an individual and I never gave my daughters my middle name but sometimes I wish I had, it would have been a nice tradition to carry on.
