I started taking the mini pill (microlut) 4 days ago and my previously settled & happy baby has since become very whiny, uncomfortable, spewy & unsettled! Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
He is 15 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. Up until now he hasn't had trouble with wind or spewing but for the past 3-4 days he has had both issues. Also, the last few feeds he has been refusing the breast (pulling off & on). Please help! |

The mini-pill usually doesn't cause supply issues, but I've heard stories that it can, it might be that? Or he might have a bit of a bug and it's just coincided with you starting on the mini-pill. If you're concerned go back to the GP and discuss the issues, you could try alternative contraceptives like IUD, implants or condoms until you're finished breasfeeding? |

Ive taken the minipill while BF and havent had any issues. I have heard anecdotally that it can change the taste of your milk so a baby might fuss for a few days before they get used to it.

DD didn't have problems when I went on it. My first period was another matter though...

Thanks ladies. I will persist for a little bit longer but if it continues then I will have to stop taking it. I can't stand seeing my little guy in pain.
I am not having supply issues at all but I'm sure I will eventually if he continues to fuss and/or refuse feeds. Maybe it's time for hubby to have the snip.... |
