I'm 6 weeks pregnant and have become very short of breath. Even if I'm just lying down. It's been worrying me so I went to the obyn and he didn't seem worried. going to the gp tonight to be sure. has anyone else had this
The obyn did check my blood pressure and oxygen levels and said it was all normal but I find myself thinking about it all the time

Indecision is the key to flexibility
Hi. One of my very early pregnancy signs is breathlessness. Have had it with all 3 pregnancies. Even the smallest physical exertion causes me to huff and puff, even though I feel fine. It usually eases around 10-12 weeks.

It may be a bit off-center but it could also be anxiety. Glad you're getting it all checked out and I hope it's nothing serious original.gif

Yes I do have anxiety but it's gone on for days but I'm sure anxiety makes it so much worse. Least I will know for sure

Hi,

I have the same symptom - and it started right after conception! I noticed before I even knew I was pregnant. I would become short of breath even from walking or talking (especially after gym or some exercise earlier that day).

Now I'm in Week 8, and the SOB seems to be up and down. Some days I don't have it at all (and then I get worried too - can't win). But I think my heart and lungs are just getting used to the extra load of building a baby.

I find that I can still go for really slow runs and bike rides. The SOB starts at the start of an activity, then as I ease into it (5-10 minutes later) it's gone. I think it's really important to keep exercising, as for me, it's a sign of a weaker cardio-respiratory system.

I also get it when I get anxious, but more so at the start of exercising.

For me it's not iron deficiency, because my iron has always been great.

I'm not too worried about it, as I've seen so many mums in later pregnancy with mild SOB. Like I said, I actually get more worried, on days it's not as obvious. Catch22.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

C

Had it with all 3 of my pregnancies. My first time I was worried, but it was just the hormones causing it, I had it till about 9-10 weeks then it went away. Hopefully you find nothing wrong and its just that. Its quite common apparently
I also know bad constipation can cause it too.

I am 10 weeks and have it. My iron is perfecto as are all my other vitamins and minerals, no deficiencies. I was fine in aerobics this morning, but my heart just speeds up randomly. I don't remember this with my first, but anyway - everything will be ok.
