what an amazing turn around! I hope that your mum makes it to the wedding, it's surprising what a goal like that can do - mum wasn't meant to live to see me married (she was diagnosed in late April, we were getting married early July) but she was determined to be there and she was, much to the doctor's amazement.
Thank you for sharing your last 2 weeks, your mum sounds like an amazing woman. I've held my breath reading some of your updates, got angry at the way she has been treated by some medical staff, cried at some things and laughed at other. Im so pleased that the outcome has been so positive (as far as her situation can be positive).
Take care

a rose by any other name :) aka sunrise, get shakey, merz, spice
Its staggering really. And to have retained her mental faculties after so many days with such low consciousness and erratic breathing (eg huge spaces between breaths)? She agreed to no further resusitation 12 days ago and had she not agreed to that, she would have been in ICU and intubated for sure. But she survived an extended period of critical condition, her organs all in freefall, her breathing compromised, and more, on a general ward, with no intervention. What a lady. Guess my dad was right to put his faith in that (overly optimistic) 3% chance he was gambling on. How happy am I, that I was SO wrong to doubt his faith.

Sudo make me a sandwich.
I couldn't read this and not thank you for sharing. Your emotional honestly and openness has been a gift and, from how you have written about your parents, I can see where you learnt it.
I wish you, your mum, and your family many future days of love.
