NYB - how many weeks are you hoping to get to? Is the plan to wait and see if you go into labour naturally? I don't think you need two bags - as you say, you won't need that much for labour. It reminds me, one of the items on my to do list is to pack a hospital bag... just in case. Most important thing to take is my own pillow!

I'm the opposite to you - I'm planning on staying in hospital until they kick me out. Mind you I think that is because I felt so unwell last time and if things go better this time maybe I might be a bit more focused on getting home to the other troops. Then again, maybe not. I have not so fond memories of going straight from the hospital with DD2 to DD1's swimming lessons. 5 days post caesar (and blood transfusion) - it was the longest swimming lesson of my life.

BTW - anyone heard from Renmaro? Hoping that everything went well for her.

A swimming lesson?!? Yes that sounds way too keen. I don't intend on doing anything like that. Wow, I'm impressed.

RPA let you go to 38 weeks plus something if you are comfortable enough and the babies are happy etc. The Ob said first week in June is most likely for an induction for me, so that is 37 plus something. I have in my head no later than 1 June, so I guess we'll see. I am starting weekly acupuncture from 34 weeks, in preparation to induce that way again if necessary.

Nothing from Renmaro as yet...

Yea Im definately planning on staying in hospital for as long as possible (I left early with my 2nd and it was a big mistake!) especially since it will be my 3rd c-section and Im getting my tubes tied so I wont get another surprise pregnancy! Ill be happy to make it to 36 weeks if I have to have them before that I will need to travel 600km to Perth luckily I have an aunty down there who has offered to look after the older 2 if that happens but obviously I dont want to have to do that if I can avoid it.

Hi girls,

Very quickly... have managed to get to 34 weeks!! But babies will be evicted tomorrow - smaller bub is showing no weight gain in 2 weeks and more signs of compromised blood flow. Have just had my 2nd shot of steriods so hopefully both their lungs will be working well.

I'm very nervous but know we are in expert hands at RHW.

I'll update when I can but best of luck to you all in the meantime.

Renee x

Lots of good luck for tomorrow Renee!! 34 weeks is a great achievement and having the steroids on board will make a huge difference. Thanks for jumping on to give us an update - especially when I am sure you have so much else on your mind!!

Jess - wow 600kms from Perth. That is a loooooong way. Hopefully your bubbies will stay put and you won't have to travel all that way! It is hard enough being pregnant with twins let alone contemplating the possibility of having to deliver that far away. So glad to hear that everything is going well so far.

Hope everyone is having a good Anzac Day. I've been trying to work out how to store our two strollers in the luggage compartment of the Multivan. I think I need some sort of storage solution that allows them to be clipped to the side wall so they can be stored upright, as otherwise they are going to take up all the boot space! Any ideas???

Hi everyone,

Renee - fantastic work on getting this far. 34 weeks is a great gestation.
Hopefully all goes well today!!!!!! Thinking of you x

T2 - How did your glucose test go the other day? Have you tried hookey straps or bungy ropes, whichever is the correct name? You know the elastic things with hooks on each end. We use them if we are trying to stand the pram up in a non-natural way, and I must say I have wheeled it straight into the van and hooked it up with the brake on. That's only if I have one kid in there, and can't be bothered folding it down. I do move the child out of the pram of course. There are heaps of hooks you can attach the straps to in the van.

Jess - keep your legs closed until 36 weeks. 600km is way too far to travel in labour!!! Wow!!! What a logistical pain in the butt. Good luck.

I'm 32 weeks today. It's really hit home that there isn't long to go. I've finally gone through the baby clothes to work out what's missing, and have a load on the line drying. I have 33 x 0000 singlets. May have gone overboard there slightly, especially cos the babies are looking pretty big. Next week I'll start on the baby linen. And next weekend we'll set up the cot and change area in our room. So hopefully it's all ready by the 34 week mark. Best order my feeding pillow now!!! I think that's all I have to do. Argh!!!

NYB - you sound VERY organised!!! That's a lot of singlets!!!

Failed the glucose test :-( but apparently only just. Now I have to do the 2 hour test. It took me ages to drink the sugary drink (maybe about 25 minutes into the hour). Do you think that could have affected the test results? I'll certainly be skulling it this time even if it makes me throw up on the floor! My OB seems pretty confident I will pass the 2 hour test. I hope so!!

Hi everyone

Just catching up with this thread.

T2 - I've heard it's quite common to just fail the first glucose test and then pass the next one so hopefully it's complication free for you. I would hate to deal with GD on top of a twin pregnancy, yikes!

Renmaro - all the best for the birth tomorrow and well done for getting to 34 weeks, that is a great gestation.

Hope everyone else is well.

I'm 14 weeks on Sunday and really feeling so sick and tired, hoping it will lift soon but was sick with DS till 20 weeks so we'll see. My tummy has popped out and I look the same as when I was about 24 weeks with my DS which is scary.

Is anyone buying a travel system (capsule that goes into the pram)? We've decided to buy a Mountain Buggy Duet and am seriously thinking about buying two carseats that clip into the pram. It is expensive but think it will make life a bit easier with two babies and a toddler. All our family live overseas and I'm a SAHM so it'll be me and the kids all day.

Have a great weekend.

Congrats on hitting the second trimester My Little Prince! Hope that you feel better soon. It really is amazing how much your belly pops in a twin pregnancy isn't it???

We are going to use a travel system for our twins - Bugaboo Donkey base and two Maxi Cosi capsules (using ISOFIX ones to make life easier). Must unpack the Donkey this weekend and work out how it is going to fit in the back of the Multivan! Once the twins grow out of the capsules (which will probably be around the twelve month mark) we will switch to a double Maclaren stroller for our car stroller.

PS Depending on where your family live overseas it may be cheaper for them to get the pram and send it to you? We bought our Donkey in the US and it was a LOT cheaper than Aus. It is a big outlay but I figure we will recoup a fair bit on Ebay when we finally sell it.
