Or he has a small penis.

The OP said that he does "everything else", so she probably has seen and/or touched his penis already. So the 'small penis' explanation is probably not the reason for the lack of sex - not that a reason is required in the first place.

.......... It shows his commitment in a relationship & is a great indicator that he'll be faithfull to you. .........

I've jumped into the sack on date #1 and stayed faithful long term, as did he. I've waited and been cheated on too. I don't know if I agree with your logic here.

.......... Maybe he is a guy with morals.........
QUOTE
I have morals, they're obviously just a little different from yours.

Maybe OP and her new man have differing levels of morality too?

Agree completely with the above. I have to say I'm not really liking the sweeping generalisations & assumptions going on here, rather disappointing. I thought we'd moved past all this by now!?! huh.gif

As for those insisting that 'true love' doesn't happen until much later on, I suggest you realise that your story isn't everyone's. Since when did love become so simplistic & regulatory!?! Sounds rather dull to me.

I can see both sides! My parents were a "love at first sight" story. They only saw each other 2 weekends before they married, only 6 months after they met....and the both adored each other through thick and thin and had just had their 54th wedding anniversary when dad died.

For me, men making great declarations of *love* too soon was such a turn off though unsure.gif

I think maybe, we are thinking about it in a different way though. Definitely, in any relationship that I would want to go the distance, by 4 months, I'd be wanting definite indication that he was either feeling "in love" with me or solidly believed he was falling in love with me.

But I guess, even as with my parents, I think of true love as being what actualy comes AFTER that inital exciting, heady "rush" of passion and sheer excitement. When I talk about "love" I personally think in terms of deep, unyielding respect and committment, which in my OWN personal framework, can't really happen until that initial "honeymoon" passion has started to wear off a bit.

not sure I'm making sense though!! And I think I know for sure only ONE thing about all this and that is, NO one can define what "love" or even "true love" actually is. The most eloquent and romantic and superior intellects in the world have tried since the dawn of time...some come close to describing it enough for others to agree with and FEEL what they have written....but in purely scientific terms NO ONE can define love or agree on it and it is presumably very different for each of us.

I more think that I know when there is an absence of love....I knew definitely when I WASN'T in love with someone.

I sure had plenty of lust and passion in my "old days" wink.gif dev (6).gif But true love? only a couple of times.

Oh - and I totally agree that waiting or not waiting to have sex is absolutely NO indication of strength of committment, devotion or even passion overall!
I was quite pomiscuious as a young person before marriage, so were plenty of others I knew! I also knew those who weren't...has there been ANY correlation that I can tell between that and final committment to chosen marriage partner?? NOPE - none at all.
Truly, being honest there.

In my experience anyway, committment to marriage, being faithful etc, the couples who DID wait, the ones that DTD after "suitable" time period and those of us who couldn't wait 24 hours barely.....ummmm.....years later, you wouldn't know from the outcomes who did what. Some have divorced, amicably, some terribly crappy breakups...some have stayed happily together and some struggle...some have been affected by infidelity, others not.

But you would have NO idea which category any of these couples fell into to start with unsure.gif
