We've just put together a short article on the differences between the way our grandmothers (and great-grandmothers!) used to do their household chores, compared to the way we do them today. Ah, the wonders of technological appliances (well, when they're working wink.gif )

Anyway, it got me thinking - what's your favourite household appliance? What saves you the most time/elbow grease/makes doing daily chores not that bad? Vote in the poll!

My mother for years didn't have a washing machine and had to boil the copper in her back yard. This is my mother mind you not my great great grandmother.

So she has instilled in me full appreciation of an automatic washing machine.

I still marvel at the time saving that it brings.

My oven.

It's a large range cooker and it's amazing. I've wanted one all my life and now that I've got one my cooking has improved beyond words.

I love, love, love my Actifry that I got at Christmas. We use it at least 5 times a week, if not every night depending on what we are having.
