RWH vs. POWH, Hospital to choose

Can someone help me decide on whether to go for Royal Womens hospital or the Prince of Wales private? I have private insurance cover but want to know pros and cons of either hospitals before I choose. I have some very old posts but wanted to hear from someone who has been through either hospitals recently. Thank you

I was happy with POWP. I had a room to myself though; there is a chance you will be allocated a shared room. My obs said that RHW was fine as well, and as a private patient you would definitely be given a room to yourself. RHW is apparently recommended for 1st time mums cos there are more midwives around. On the other hand, I heard that it is noisier, and the food isn't as good - I can't vouch for the accuracy of these aspects. I went with POWP cos if I ended up needing the special care facilities at RHW or SCH (thankfully not) they would be v close by.

I'm at RHW, was there for my previous pregnancy too. I have been very happy and I am going completely public. I posted about it in this thread http://www.essentialbaby.com.au/forums/ind...howtopic=963418 a couple of weeks ago.
