Just wondering what other people are doing for their only recently turned 2 yr old children at Easter...?

My DD is a few months older than yours and we are not religious so this Easter is all about the bunny

We have some Easter books that we will read this week to build the anticipation -- might even see the 'Eater bunny' at our local shopping centre. The night before we will put out a carrot and water for him and I have made a cardboard stencil of rabbit footprints which I will use to make the trail for the egg hunt. I am planning to use the white spray foam that you put on your windows to look like fake snow for the footprints but I haven't tested it yet so might end up using flour or even spray paint on the grass. At this age I thought following footprints will be more fun than randomly searching. Along the path I have made some cellophane bags with a hollow chocolate egg and a little schleich bunny or one of those eggs that you put in water to hatch (she loves those!). We are making a basket this week which will use for the hunt. She will probably eat an egg or two but most of them will hopefully end up in the fridge for DH and I

We are going out with family for breakfast otherwise I might have included some dyed chicken eggs in the hunt to collect for breakfast.

Eggs which hatch? Where can I find one???

National Geographic stores sell the Hatching eggs otherwise you may be lucky to find one in a cheap $2 store or a specialty toy shop. They are great, we've had a few different ones.

DS is 2.6 and we are Christian so will spend most of the long weekend in church (3 services). We've bought him an Easter bag with colouring in book and crayons, sticker book and a small Easter egg cup and spoon.

Edited to add: we've also bought a Veggie Tales dvd, it is our favourite series at the moment.

Small chocolate bunny and a DVD, thats what the Easter Bunny brings at our house every year

We don't do the whole Easter Bunny and Santa thing.

The MIL likes to have Easter at her house though, so the children and I make felt baskets together and take them to her house for an Easter Egg Hunt.

It's a great balance for all of us.

I don't like the whole commercial side of it, so don't really have to buy into it. The children don't 'miss out' and the MIL still gets her way.
