So far I've had a week of EWCM and I'm getting frustrated - shouldn't I have ovulated by now? Is it normal to have EWCM for so long? This is only my third (long) cycle coming off the pill, so I'm not sure yet what's normal for me.

My temp was slightly up this morning but there's no signs of EWCM drying up yet, so I'm not holding my breath just yet. mad.gif

Are you certain it's CM? Could it be semen? There's a test you can do if you're not sure... Fill the sink with a little water and EWCM turns into a ball & sinks, if it dissolves then it's semen.

If its EWCM It's a good thing to have so much biggrin.gif even though it's frustrating. Are you using OPK's too or checking cervix?

I usually have it for 10-15 days, not sure if its normal or not either....

Last cycle i had it for 19 days and i know it was EWCM as i put it in water to check. Mine however does start off by going yellow, then cloudy then finally the clear stuff, i also track everything else so i know more of when im about to O.

It just means your body is taking a bit longer to finally release the egg - happens with people with PCOS. However since you have come off the pill I'm thinking its just your body gearing back up to normal again. Just keep BD is all I can recommend.

My first cycle back after DS2 a few weeks ago caused me to post exactly the same question. Mine was about 10 days or so, I wasn't expecting it quite so long otherwise I would have counted lol! Seemed never-ending!

Hoping it's not the same next time round.... Although, if it's a good thing then really I shouldn't complain original.gif

Lucky duck! the more EWCM the better, I've had cycles with 2 days of it and cycles with 10 days. Hopefully Ovulation comes soon for you!

Thanks everyone! Now on day 8!

Admittedly there wasn't much EWCM in the first couple of days - it started off mixed, but mainly creamy and white. I'm checking at the cervix so maybe that's why I notice it for longer? For several days it's been perfectly clear and definitely EWCM. Kabrsi, we're using condoms this cycle so I'm quite sure it's not semen. I'm temperature charting but not using OPKs (maybe next cycle). My cervix has seemed kind of medium to high for the last week or so (and it never feels open to me!).

All the stages of my cycle are still definitely delayed after coming off the pill, and I guess this is just further confirmation of that. Very annoying - trying Vitex, EPO and B vitamins this cycle along with BCWG, so maybe the EPO is a factor. I'm just hoping that I do actually eventually ovulate hands.gif

That's good, I used to get confused with the two, that's why I mentioned it. I just had a look at your charts & you may want to keep an eye on your LP, seems a little short. Hopefully to do with coming off the pill though. You're taking all the right vitamins to 1. Regulate cycle and 2. Increase LP so best of luck OP

I get it, and have PCOS.

I don't think "the more the better" which is what some people will tell you. You still only have a few fertile days. Your body will trick you into believing you're fertile, but you won't ovulate for 10+ days, therefore sperm in your EWCM won't do the trick if it was there 10 days ago, if you know what I mean. You still have to get ovulation day, or there abouts, and that's harder if you have 10, 12, 14 days of EWCM. I guess it's harder for me, as we did insemination, not sex, so had to time it really well. OPKs would often be positive for me, but I wouldn't actually ovulate for 7 days later, too. So I guess I'm saying monitor your body.

I'm now doing IVF and my body gears up to ovulate and then stops and starts again. The joys of PCOS.
