Yes, I love Caleb - would probably have called one of my younger children this if I didnt keep having girls.
Yes, it is a very biblical name to me - but that is a good thing to me, my only son also has a very biblical name (Luke) and I love many biblical names - my favourites being Joel, Caleb, Joshua, Jared, Isaac, Michael. I do not think it is boring - I like short names and Caleb is not overly similar to any other names, I think it is very non-boring. I do not perceive it as over popular - but not so unusual that no-one has heard of it either - I know one or two children called it - oldest being a teenager. My guess is that it is in top 100 but not top 10 or 20. |

It also would depend if the meaning would bother you. It wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me if I loved it but it's not really as sweet a meaning as Isaac, Asher, Samson, etc.

I do think of it being Biblical, but lots of boys are named Caleb without knowing the Biblical connection. I think it's a great name. I only Caleb I know is in his 20's

I really like it. It would suit a little boy or an adult - so, good choice!

I like the name. I don't think it's overly biblical, but I like a lot of biblical names.
I know about 4 or 5 Calebs - from about 7 years down to about 7 months. |

Personally I prefer Cassius (cash-us) or Cyrus (which is also Biblical) or a lot of other Biblical names. I'm pretty sure this name is pronounced as it's spelt, not with a shh-sound. I've never heard it said that way. Cassius as in Cassius Clay? I love Cassius, pronounced the way that Cassius Clay (aka Mohammed Ali) pronounced it. However, both CASH-us and CASS-ius are legitimate ways to say it. http://www.behindthename.com/name/cassius And yes, Cassius would win in my name smack down against Caleb! |

I really like Caleb - and I can't say that I associate it with the bible. Every Caleb I've ever met has been really nice (and I know that shouldn't make a difference, but it does lol). I think it's a great choice of name, but maybe if you want it to be a little less old fashioned (biblical), then spell it with a K.
