I know a few - they all go by Pru though.
It is a pleasant enough name but I think Pru is a bit 'nothing', kind of like a sound not a name, and if we are being realistic that IS what she will end up being called. I have a virtue name and luckily it is one that is worth striving to live up to. As is prudence - but there is nothing that glamourous or heroic about living a prudent life is there? It is just so very sensible. |

It's not a name I would use, but would much rather hear a Prudence than many other names.
I was hoping that Siouxsie & The Banshees clip would be the actual video for Dear Prudence, which I haven't see for ages, although I do have it on VHS somehere, but it wasn't. |

I adore Prudence. So elegant and lady-like. It would be on my list, along with Ursula, except that it has been vetoed. Not "pretty" enough apparently

I am not a fan of virtue names, such as Prudence but I absolutely LOVE the name Prue, which I suppose it would get as a NN..
Completely up to what you like OP |

Names like Prudence, Constance and Temperance - I've not heard given to a baby (celeb or in real life) for about 30 years. Temperance Brennan from Bones. I know, she's a character, not a real person, but there you go. Her last name is my hubbys first name. He was named after a (very) small battle in Canada that took place on Brennan's Hill, near where his father grew up. And yes, he is always spelling it to people, 'no it doesn't have a d in it' |
