So I updated my Windows Vista as I needed to update to install something else. Now I keep getting the dreadful black screen all the time. Apart from restarting my computer each time this happens, is there anything else I can do? TIA

I suspect it might be a virus.
There used to be a virus that got onto computers, it had a pop up to 'buy' a solution but it only made the virus go deeper into the registries and harder to fix. Have you tried calling a local computer repairer for an idea. I'd doubt though they'd give advice or quote over the phone because they'd need to see it to assess what the problem is. Is there a pattern of when it blacks? if you can think of something that triggers it, might be able to google. |

Oh the joys of Windows Vista. Google 'windows Vista black screen of death' and it should give you a few jumping off points for fixes. I've got to head out the door in a min so I can't help more than that.
You're best solution is to get rid of Vista all together though, it's a piece of junk. |
