judging by the title.. I would say there are thousands of people who get depressed going shopping. Either things are not fitting well, you have to buy a bigger size than you hoped, you notice how old /fat/ saggy you look in the change room mirror, this season's colours don't suit you or they all too expensive. So many reasons to not enjoy clothes shopping really......

I hate clothes shopping because it always upsets me, even when I go into stores like Autograph. Their clothes might be larger sized but they are made for women with no boobs and legs that are 6ft long.

No need to write the vent - we all know how you feel! I would rather have someone dig out an ingrown toenail with a broken bottle than to go clothes shopping..

On a happier note...

I have a fabulous poncho that my DP made me buy when we were on a trip to the big city.
I had already hit that 'pit of morose depression' that clothes shopping causes at the time and was very 'I don't think so' about it.

He INSISTED - we bought it and I swear every single time I wear it someone (big person, small person, old person, young person) will approach me and ask me where it came from!

I sometimes think that the misery that clothes shopping causes makes us overlook things that are making us look good.

I hear you OP. Nothing nice about clothes shopping once your size 16+.

I don't think its entirely our fault either: clothes are made of thin cheap unforgiving fabrics, poorly cut and made to last just a few months.

Don't feel bad about venting!

I'd like clothes to have decent sleeves. larger women (and women over a certain age, both of which I am lol) do NOT want a freaking cap sleeve or sleeveless top. I want a sleeve to cover the top half of my arms. Is that too much to ask?? Even in winter there were stupid sleeveless jumpers around.
So I have the triple whammy of being short(proportions are all wrong, necklines too low) fat(enough said) and over 30(City Chic is too young for me) oh and not being rich I can't afford pay9ing over $100 for jeans or tops.
Plus it's all mullet skirts(with my knees? I don't think so!) or peplum tops(here's my middle and hips with a lovely ruffle to draw attention to it)...

Is it any wonder I shop for my 2yr old way more than me?

over 30(City Chic is too young for me)

BeMe, Autograph etc are all really "elderly" styled in my opinion. I'm lucky enough to usually fit in the largest size at normal stores (although it's a crapshoot) and hardly ever shop in a plus size store because the clothes are all so old and would be too old for my mother (I am approaching 40).

It's sad when I can get nice trendy clothes at Supre but BeMe seems like a store for people with one foot in the grave.
