“Truths and roses have thorns about them.â€
No David!

It's the first book DS learned to read. LOL. Which is probably why I'm so attached to it.

The Magic Pudding - Norman Lindsay
An Australian classic. I bought DS the hard cover copy when he was a baby. My brother has a copy which was given to him when he was young.
The illustrations have so much character, the grumpy looking pudding is just so ridiculously funny.

This almost made my original list but it was just getting too long. This is a fairly recent discovery for me, but I also love it!

Oh, and the Magic Pudding wub.gif

Can anyone name the book....please....there is a rhyme in it which goes something like " rumti tum, rubiddy bum, rat a tat tat, Boom! which recurs throughout the story. My grandchildren loved it and we can't remember the title. I would love to get a copy of it for my next grandchild. If anyone knows the answer I would be grateful. original.gif

As I have had my own kids I understand the need for a picture book to be interesting for both the child and parent - I recently came across the following book available on www.lulu.com it is such a simple but really entertaining and funny story about a naughty dog that my Lucy and Thomas just love. Though I just had to share

Mikey and Pikey by Annabell Livingston - available on www.lulu.com

Enjoy
