I bought a pre paid sim for my iPad. 3gig for $30.

Can anyone please tell me if and how I can check how much I have used?

me too. You will need to go online, or I think you can do it over the phone. Do you still have the card/envelope the micro sim came in? You will need the phone number that is on there as that is your ipad's number. Personally, I just recharged straight away with the $150 amount, gives you 12GB and you have 12 months to use it.

just try phoning up and get your details so you can log in. They should be able to get your number by telling them the serial number on the micro sim

On your SIM documentation, you should have instructions. Once it's been activated, you can just check your account page.

These details are taken straight from the Telstra site:

The easiest way to recharge is to set up a shortcut to My Account on your iPad desktop. You won’t need any recharge credit to access this. You just need access to the Telstra Next G® network.

You can do this as follows:

Step 1. Open Safari Internet Browser and type http://myprepaid.telstra.com/ipad in the address bar, then press Go.
Step 2. Once the page loads, touch the button beside the address bar at the top of the browser
Step 3. Select Add to Home Screen then press Add

Once completed a My Account icon will be created on your home screen. You then have the following options to recharge your account..

Handy Hint: To access My Account, from your iPad, you must turn off any Wi-Fi connection that you have open.

You won't get any warning that it's run out, and if you wait too long, you may find it hard to recharge. So you should get used to keeping an eye on it.

The account balance gives you a value, not an amount of data. So it's reasonably meaningless unfortunately, but it gives you at least an idea of whether you still have credit.
