Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for stopping babies grinding their new little teeth. My two boys are almost 12 months (but only 9 and a half months corrected) and have five little teeth each. They are so proud of their new additions and love to play with them with their fingers and tongue, but also grind them against each other. The noise sounds awful and I'm worried they are going to do damage to their poor little teeth! Has anyone experienced this, or have any advice?

TIA

DD used to do this all the time.
Just ignore it, try not to make a big deal. She eventually just got over it.
Don't worry about damage either, they can't do much and they are only their baby teeth anyway.

Hope it passes soon!

My DS was doing this recently, i think it was just him discovering that his top and bottom teeth could touch and after about a week he got over it and stopped.

Try not to worry, hopefully it will pass soon aswell.

My DS does it and has been doing it for months, drives me nutty, hate the sound!

I was worried as he started waring down the corners of his two top teeth quite quickly but the MCHN said there is nothing you can do about it and it won't be an issue in regards to teeth quality in the long run.
