Just wondering if anyone has tried accupuncture, or reflexology etc to bring on labour?
I am currently 39+6 (due tomorrow!) with DD3 and so far have had no signs of labour. I guess I just assumed being my 3rd that she would be early or at least on time. I am huge and miserable and just want things to get going.

I have made an appointment for accupuncture tomorrow, and just wondered if anyone had had any success with this.
Am also going to see my OB on fri for a membrane sweep/strip & stretch and was hoping to avoid this by going into labour before then.

I have also been told to have a hot bath, have sex, lots of walking, eat pineapple but none of these are working!

I have had 2 relatively straightforward VB's in the past, but this is my first time in the private system and I'm apprehensive about being pressured into interventions to speed things along. My OB has told me she won't let me go more than 7 days over, so I feel like time is running out.

Maybe I just need to relax! Any advice???

Mum to two boys!! :O
I did for #2. I had an emergency c-section at 10 days overdue with DS1. My OB with DS2 was happy for me to try a VBAC but only if I went into labour naturally.

I had acupuncture every week from week 36 or so. It helped a lot with my sore hips. My final session was two days before my due date. I went to make a further appointment and she told me I wouldn't need one. Sure enough that evening my waters started leaking. I started getting contractions the next day.

Unfortunately, for me I didn't get my VBAC but I think that was for reasons unique to me (and my cervix!). I actually think the acupuncture worked and on a more co-operative cervix would have had a good outcome. original.gif Good luck!!

I had acupuncture, it didn't help, sorry. I was induced 3 days later.

I had accupressure on my feet as recommended by my midwife at about 41 weeks and nothing happened. I was induced at 11 days over.

Hope it happens for you soon!
