I'm not really sure where to put this post, so i just stuck with the 6-12 month category for now...
So I just got back from DS's head ultrasound. He had an ultrasound cos his head is big and the paed thinks its may be why he still can't lift his head when on his tummy (almost 9 mths old). Anyway, they did the scan then the tech left the room for about 15mins, comes back with the doctor... who said there "seems to be debris in the spinal fluid cavity" but he can't elaborate cos he doesn't usually deal with paediatrics (got booked in for wrong day when paed dr wasn't in - long story) so i have to take DS back tomorrow for a second scan and get the other doctor to have a look. I'm trying to avoid Dr. Google at the moment, but any debris in any fluid doesn't sound good to me... can anyone shed some light? Do i dare open google and freak myself out until tomorrow morning? has anyone had this and everything been ok? |

Don't do it! You know that google has the power to direct you to the most unreassuring sites possible, while making you avoid anything which may be reassuring
In all seriousness, paediatric ultrasounds are a specialist area and I'd wait until tomorrow, you may find that the next doctor disagrees, or suggests something completely different, so if you wait till tomorrow you might have something more specific to google...or hopefully, nothing at all! It must be very stressful for you. Hopefully someone else can reply with some more personal experiences. Hope all goes well tomorrow. |
