I was wondering if there were any complications or things to watch out for with baby #5? I've had relatively normal pregnancies in terms of bubs positioning etc, and easy quick births, but I've seen mention of a few things like the uterus being stretched and bubs ending up transverse, or continually flipping about and ending up breech etc. I've asked my Dr and she said that there is an increased risk of blood loss, so they will have a drip in straight away, but other than that, based on my history, it should hopefully be the same as the others.

So I'm just curious to know how many people had normal pregnancies and labours with previous bubs and ran into issues with their #5? Or had normal births etc with their #5 as well!

8 weeks to go and I think the paranoia about something going wrong is creeping in LMAO

# 5 was my easiest ,least complicated and the only one I didn't have a secondary PPH after.
He took until the last moment before his head went down but once he was and I was in labour he didn't move.
I know by definition we are grand multigravidas and with that comes a slightly higher risk but in a healthy woman who has had a straightforward pregnancy and who has had previously uncomplicated deliveries the risk is still low.
Good luck

It was straight forward. Ob arrived after the event (again).
She was high the entire pg though. Only dropped moments before birth.

Eight weeks to go - whoo hoo!!! Here's to a calm peaceful birth - good luck!

Mine followed the pattern of the others. Was straightforward as births go. While I was angry (they waited too long to give me an epi!) I felt a lot more in control than all the others. I just knew what I was doing, what baby was doing and what to expect.

Don't stress, I always heard number 3 was the odd one (birth not child!) and this was true for me!

All 6 of mine were straight forward and complication-free. The only thing about baby 5 is I wasn't told about the canula before labour. I feel that I was deprived of the opportunity to research and properly decide on this issue for myself.

my #5 was normal as well. followed the same pattern as the others. only difference is that i had SPD which is common with the more bubs you have. so i would get it again if i was to full pregnant again.
hope your labour goes well original.gif

Number 5 i would say was my second easiest. No.6 was slightly easier.

Number 5 was also my first homebirth though, which made a big difference. Very easy birth though original.gif

My 5th was very different from the others. After 4 natural births (3 of them very straight forward in the birth centre) number 5 decided she would be breech. So number 5 was a c/s. All good though - went on to have 3 children after her.

#5 was extremely painful for me....no drugs. Did that on purpose so I wouldn't want to go back. #5 was also my smallest singleton...he was only 3oz bigger than my bigger twin and was less than 7 pounds.
