Hi Everyone,

I gave birth 6 days ago. A vaginal delivery using forceps and resulting in a episiotomy

Still can't complain is this was a VBAC after TWO c/secs eexcite.gif

Anyway my bum hurts so much. Its not my epi cut that hurts but my bum.

Is this normal?

How did you feel after your episiotomy?

How long did it take you to heal??

The bum pain I feel is like I've been sitting down ALL day as its a numb achey feeling? is this right??

My war paint is Sharpie ink
Is it possible you have haemarrhoids? I got them this time around and they were more painful than my tear by far. Took longer to heal as well.

Regular ice packs and cream from the pharmacy helped in the end.

Niggles it could be hemorhoids? How would I know?

There is no blood in my poo and I read that was a symptom?

I had this after my VBA2C as well - it was horrible! But it went away after about a week and a half - 2 weeks.

Congratulations! And I hope the pain goes away for you soon original.gif

Because I can.
I had similar after my first birth and it turned out I'd fractured my coxyx, and didn't realise it at first because I was still kind of numb.

Does it feel like it could be in the area of the coxyx? I thought I was constipated and had an impacted bowel, lol.

Do you mean it hurts because of the pushing out of the head that feels like its coming out your bum instead? lol

5 weeks later and my bum still doesn't feel quite right wink.gif

I reckon another couple of weeks and I will be better, she was posterior so it probably has something to do with it.

sounds normal to me.

I didn't get that symptom. I got ultrasound treatment on my tear and the women's physio told me I had them so that's how I knew. You might be able to feel them. The ultrasound treatment is really really good whatever the problem so if it's bad I'd look into getting some.

*so disappointed* thought this was going to be a hemorrhoids thread for sure! I never had them until this week (3 kids, the youngest is 6 - all csections mind you)... but one little hemorrhoid has popped out so to speak, this week. And my bum hurts.

Congrats on your baby though!
