Gold....

Hi PCM! Hope your IvF journey starts real soon. Good luck original.gif

Thanks RubyLou original.gif I'm so nervous & happy - nerppy? Hahaha.

Sorry to see you here Kazz. These girls will be such great support for you.
We waited 1 cycle to start TTC again, as recommended. It took us 3 cycles to get our current BFP.
I haven't used vitex sorry.

Baby dust to all you ladies. Xoxo

I think this is the bit where I say.... SILVER! Hehe original.gif

Des Hen is 'nerppy'... I like it. I can understand how you would be excited, but still nervous - I am sure everything will be fine original.gif Enjoy the happiness it brings you x

Kazz - welcome to this group, and I am sorry that you find yourself here. We will happily share your good days and your bad days with you hhugs.gif I had a D&C on 20/2 and my first AF arrive just under four weeks later. Before falling pregnant my cycle was 27 days so that is not too far off normal, although I don't think I ovulated the month after my D&C. We were told by our doctor, and the doctor at the hospital, that we didn't have to wait to start trying again. My DP works away though so we weren't able to try the cycle straight after anyways. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like.... we may not always have the answers but we are happy to listen original.gif

Hi ladies

I seem to keep disappearing from this group and I am sorry!

First off - congrats to Des hen - was very excited for you to see your news - hope all goes well! hope you keep us updated!

And second - welcome to Kazz = sorry you find yourself here. The group is awesome and one of the few places where the people get 'it' and it really allows a safe place to vent.

AFM - I started my meds, and need to do injection tonight to trigger ovulation and then Tuesday morning we will do the IUI. fingers and toes and everything else crossed. I have had my anxious moments but feeling pretty calm. After Tuesday, about 4-5 days after I have a BT to check progesterone levels (and may do another injection then if it needs a boost) and then 16DPO I do BT to check for pregnancy (unless of course my period turns up). So thats my schedule for the next few weeks - all mapped out for me! This is our fourth IUI cycle and will be the second IUI since MC 9and we conceived on our 2nd). This is our third cycle since MC as I had a cycle off.

I wish weekends were longer - they really do just fly by don't they!

Thank you all for the warm welcome original.gif

I meant to say Congrats to you in my earlier post Des Hen! Fantastic news & gives me hope. I'm really hoping it doesnt take too long.

We were also told we didnt have to wait to try again, but they do recommend it. Think we'll just wait a couple of weeks before even having sex & see how things go.

Hi Kiwi Girl, sorry for seeming so clueless but what is IUI? I am assuming its like IVF? I hope it all goes well for you & you get some good news. The weekends definately need to be longer! Although i can't complain today though as i have the next 2 weeks off.

Hi Kazz

IUI is intra-uterine insemination. I am doing ovulation induction and IUI. It's a step down from IVF but very similar in some ways. I have been on injections which are commonly called FSH - or follicle stimulating hormone and take this for roughly the first 2 weeks of my cycle monitored by internal scans and blood tests. This is the same type of med that is used in IVF but a lower dose as they want to limit the amount of follicles to 3 or below to limit chance of multiple pregnancy. Then, at right time (according to follicle number and size and hormone levels) I stop the daily injections, and do a one-off trigger shot that induces ovulation approx 36ish hours later - so I do this at 10pm tonight. Then on the IUI day - my husband has to be at the clinic to produce his sample which then gets processed in the lab (essentially washing it and getting all the strongest sperm together) which then 2 hours later is inserted into my via a catheter directly into my uterus (this part is kind of like a pap smear). I have PCOS (poly cystic ovaries) and my specialist felt that this was the best way to proceed. Of course, if this doesn't work after another cycle or two then I imagine we would be progressing to IVF.

Through this process, I have learnt things about my body that I never even thought about - like follicles/eggs etc !!!

Any questions - feel free to ask I'm a pretty open book with this stuff.

Des_Hen - Congrats!! So happy for you.

kiwi-girl - thinking of you and that it all goes well this cycle.

AFM
I gave myself my second injection just then. Have an US on Wednesday and a blood test and we will see what happens then.

I'm actually a lot calmer than I thought I would be. Less anxious somehow than with my previous 'natural' attempts. Perhaps experience has taught me something after all.

Dec_hen - congratulations!! I completely understand being nerrpy as I think that if we get a BFP again I will be exactly the same. I think the first time you don't really consider the fact it could go wrong but for us girls now we know how hard it can be. Snding good vibes your way.

Kiwi girl and PCM - fingers crossed for you guys this week, hope all go well.

Kazz333 - sorry to find yourself here.I had a very similar experience as I went for a routine scan at 9 weeks to find that the heartbeat was lvery ow and a follow up scan the next day confirmed it had stopped. I have to have a D&C as well because my body had not processed the end of the pregnancy. My doc also said that we could technically try straight away but he said having one off can help you recover better. We ahve failed at the first 3 cycles we have tried post the D&C but I have heard of many who are very quick. I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I havent used Vitex either, sorry.

AFM - I have given up on ovulation tests as noone can possibly ovulate as much as me. My temperature finally rose last week which is odd though as it would be a very different cycle to the first few cycles after the D&C which had become shorter. This would put my cycle back around the 30/31 it was before. Hopefully it is a good omen. As a result I have absolutely no idea when AF is due so this will be a peculiar month. I guess its wait and see.

KiwiGirl - Thanks for explaining, sounds like a very difficult thing to have to go through. I really hope you have some positive news soon.

Porkchop - Thank you so much for your PM yesterday. I did reply but not sure if it went through coz it didnt come up in my sent items. I hope you get some good news very soon too.

Olivebaby - Thanks for the welcome. It is absolutely heartbreaking & noone should ever have to go through that. If i had my way everyone that wanted babies would be able to have them with no complications or worry. Ah if only...

AFM - I thought i was feeling good & doing well so i decided to do a step class at the gym this morning. As much as i love step, the alternative (being pregnant) is much more appealing. I hated being able to do it again. I ended up having to leave halfway through as i have obviously gotten very unfit & it was just too much too soon. I felt like i was gonna faint. I went & sat in the lounge area to calm down & sobbed for a bit. A mixture of being so unfit that i couldnt do the class, & that i'm not pregnant anymore. I'm feeling ok now though & just taking it easy this arvo.
I really wanna get back into trying, but i dont think hubby will even have sex with me for at least another week! Not that i would be ovulating anytime soon anyway. I'm thinking of getting some OPKs but at the same time i dont want to put too much pressure on ourselves. What have your experinces with them been like?
