We have recently had a Smeg induction cooktop with electric oven installed. We have 3 phase to the house. BUT you still ned to have an increased amp to the oven/cooktop for the induction.
You need a much higher amapge from your power box to the oven that any normal powerpoint has. So you need an electrician to do that as well as the install. We were lucky that our power box was relatively near the kitchen as you pay by meterage for the wiring |

I hate to keep rehashing this thread. Sorry!
Electrician said $400, so unfortunately Bosch is out of price range now. What about Ilve, anyone? This post has been edited by sophiasmum: 04/04/2012, 06:57 PM |

I tis still going to cost at least $400 to install no matter which brand you purchase.
You do realise that in all likelihood you will need to replace ALL your cookware too don't you? I did well at the time and bought from Home Depot online a set of Jamie Oliver Anodised Induction cook wear for only $395 delivered But the same items individually from Myer or such are over $1000. So check you current cookware- all you need to do is get a magnet and if the magnet sticks to the bottom it is OK for induction. Otherwise you cannot use it at all It is quite an investment to change to Induction when you add cookware and installation costs so dropping to a lower brand seems silly to me This post has been edited by Daisy Goat: 04/04/2012, 05:38 PM |

Yes it will cost $400 no matter which we choose.
And I've bought a Circulon set for $300. Why does dropping to a lower brand seem silly? All I've done is realise Bosch is out of my price range so I'm trying to find the best in a lower price range? Given there are soooo many brands out there I'm finding it very hard to choose. |
