Thanks so much for the recipe Pussydids, I've not ventured into dextrose yet but I have found chocolate natvia stuff pretty awful. I love a good lemon cake original.gif I've also since found the Sarah Wilson cheesecake which looks pretty good too. LOL, would it be wrong to go without all sugar, including fruit for 3 weeks, and then have 2 birthday cakes?

Lovemy3kids, I think you might have me mistaken with mum2jp, but thank you for the link anyway. I'm a naturopathy student and am a bit (a lot) of a nutrition nerd, so I'm always up for new information biggrin.gif

Is the Bulla ice cream the one in the blue container? If so, I noticed after examining the ingredients really closely that the first 2 ingredients are fresh whole milk and liquid sugar. I didn't see them at first as they are around the corner from the remainder of the ingredients. I hope this isn't the one you were talking about as it is so delish!

Oh dear god. Please say this isn't so! I'll have to check next time we go to the shops. I've been going off the list of ingredients in big type down the front which doesn't have any fructose based sugars. I'm going to be full of sads if it is a liquid fructose. I went straight to the bulla site and their spec sheet concurs with you, but I'm sure I never saw it originally!

I'm avoiding easter chocolate by eating easter buns Tounge1.gif I know they're just as bad, but I can stop more easily after 1 as my body recognises all the bread fibres and goes "WOAH THERE NELLY". It's closer to being real food, and I think they're yummier than the chocolates anyway!

I am coping with easter by only having 70% dark chocolate. This way its more decadent and i only eat a teeny bit.....

no hot cross buns for me!!!! not so far anyway!

OH NOES!

You were right. Bulla were SNEAKY BUGGERS and hid the sugar around the corner of the label, not where the rest of the ingredients were.

Dangit. Back to double cream (Not a fate worse than death, it must be said...)

I'm contemplating simply putting tubs of double cream in the freezer. that'll be like icecream, right?

Um. I think it would be a little too icy. Also, freezing reduces the flavour and sweetness of foods, so I would worry it'd be a bit tasteless. Maybe add some vanilla bean and a few drops of stevia before you freeze it?

sad.gif I hoped I had the wrong sort of ice cream. Back to making my own with dextrose. At least there is an alternative.

Does anyone know if Loving Earth chocolate is allowed? When I enquired at the health shop, the attendant said that one variety has no fructose, but agave. I know agave isn't recommended, so I steered clear of that one.

We then found a variety (Organic Coconut Mylk) which is 53% raw cacao, sweetened with organic evaporated coconut nectar. There is no agave or other sweeteners on the ingredients list.
Is this ok?
