HI ladies,

Bumped Up & lisa: Wasnt going to write today but wanted to say that I had severe Graves disease too diagnosed after thebirth of my first daughter in jan2005 and a total thyroidectomy in Oct 2009. They tried to control it with medication but it just didnt work.
I am on thyroxine, Iron & folate, & Vitamin D everyday for the rest of my life. I have also been told that Vitamin D is also very important and should be given to our children to possible avoid these kids of problems but obviously speak to a pediatrician.
I have had friends who have had great results with natropaths too. Happy to chat any time original.gif

Hi Everyone

So happy to hear that everyone is getting their next set of scans we have ours next Wed so excited can't wait to see our 2 little bundles biggrin.gif

lisa83- I know how you feel about the prams but after lots of research we finally decided on the Love n care Twingo that PackedToTheRafters suggested it was the best for us and we ended up going to The baby warehouse and getting them to match a price that we found online so it worked out cheaper plus with the cheaper price we were able to get the bassinetts as well.

Im still waiting to feel movement but then again as its my first im not too sure what to expect .

Hope everyone has a great week rolleyes.gif

Hi Ladies,

I haven't posted forever but regularly check in to see how everyone is doing. I am due on the 14th of September and due to a high risk NT had an amnio last week (same happened with my 3 year old DD which is a bit strange as I am only 29) Results came back fine and confirmed that we are having a boy.

Being tired and sick has mostly passed thankfully but I am getting headaches every second or third day which does not make me a happy mumma.

I am super looking forward to hearing how everyone's scans go over the next few weeks and hearing about whether you've been blessed with a boy or a girl. I have my scan on the 16th of April but am only just checking in my hospital this Thursday as I left it too late to make the appointment and there was already such a massive wait. Typical Sydney. glare.gif

xx

Hi everyone, have been MIA for a while but have been checking the thread regularly. Just feel like this is the lull part of pregnancy where nothing much happens...

Pink - hope you are recovering well. You sound like you've been through more than most of us can imagine and we are all thinking of you xxoo

Giltine - I've been feeling dizzy at times too. Hope your are getting better, mine seems to be when I haven't eaten or drunk much water that day so am trying to have hydralyte to keep me hydrated so we'll see if that works.

Morti - I am hearing you on the sleep stuff! Everyone tells me that its to prepare us for a newborn but between the restlessness, the peeing in the middle of the night and then finding a comfortable position...its hard to enjoy the process!

Sg290780 - amazing you can feel kicks and movement! I'm like BumpedUp, no movement yet except feeling my own pulse in my belly so hope it starts soon. Would be nice to know everything is still ok in there.

ayla2008 - I second jeanswest for jeans that are good value. Websites like old navy and maternal america also have good cheap jeans but don't know what the fit is like given they are overseas brands.

Mumma to A - and everyone else that has had scans before - what can you see at the 20 week scan? Have mine in 2 weeks and want to find out the gender but someone told me they aren't accurate and I should go for a 3d or 4d scan after 25 weeks. Is another scan on top of the 20 week one necessary? Anyone had a gender guess be wrong? I don't care at all whether its girl or boy but I do want to decorate!!

Its a quiet few weeks of pregnancy this middle part isn't it? The first 12 weeks is anticipation and new symptoms everyday and now its just like whatever - no kicking yet, no new symptoms (probably a good thing!), still a couple weeks until the next scan...I feel like I'm just plodding along. Have got more of a bump now though although depending on what I'm wearing it sticks out more in a work dress than pants.
I did achieve something today though - I checked out 3 child care centres today in my local area - to get a feel for them and a friend told me to get in early as if your name isn't on the list by Oct, you will miss out on a place for next year. I have my top 2 which are close to home, the third one was terrible. Kids unhappy, quiet - not one of them was smiling or laughing - very depressing. The kindy teacher said hello with a greaser on her face and the other carers barely acknowledged me at all. So vastly different to the other two whose carers and cook were happy to chat, kids laughed and played in the sunshine....just so different and I'm glad I went to a few as the one I thought I would love was the worst. Anyone have any good/bad/ugly childcare experiences they wish to share?

Is anyone else begining to have heartburn? I dont remember feeling like this untill further along but i have found a new found love of curries and vegimite/cheese saladas so i dont think thats helping the situation:(

BumpedUp & sg290780 Thyroid problems mess around with alot dont they! I have graves disease also, Im starting to wish i had mine out earlier. Was diagnosed just over 3 years ago and have only ever once almost been in normal range. That was when i was allowed to TTC november last year and now i am almost as bad as when i was first diagnosed. Next appointment is April 17th (on my birthday cry1.gif ) so im hoping to hear of an imrpovement rather than surgery. I started back on PTU , 2 a day about 2 months ago then upped to 2 twice a day and now im on 4 twice a day and dont think i am allowed to have a further increase if needed.

PackedToTheRafters My thryoid started playing up when Ava was 2 so havnt had to deal with this pregnant before. That pram does look pretty good, will check it out in the shops but Im not to keen on the side by side because of the width though. I had a valco runabout with Ava and that was wide for a single and i hated it. I like the idea of facing them different ways when need be, the one im looking at the can face each other, away from each other, both facing front or back.

Sar333 & sg290780 So jelous of the movement, its so exciting and comforting to feel the wriggles and kicks.

tauruspregnant! When i had Ava i was told she was a girl at my 18 week scan and it was confirmed later on at about 32 weeks. I asked this time around at my 12 week scan what was and educated guess from what could be seen, she said twin 1 maybe girl and twin 2 wouldnt be still enough. Hopefully they both co operate at my 18 week scan which i think is pretty accurate.

Im so exctied i had my OB appointment today, it seemed like the last 3 weeks went forever. She has an US machine in her rooms and i got to see my 2 bubbas wriggling around. They are gwoing well and have increased what they should over the last weeks. Twin 1 is still measuring a week behind and twin 2 almost measuring to the day which is such a relief. I had almost taled myself into something being not right, twice the worry i think. Twin 1 has turned about head down bum up to twin 2 who was laying flat across facing up.

Hello ladies,

Pink my thoughts are with you, hoping everything is okay xx

I have been MIA for a couple of weeks and have enjoyed sitting here reading all the posts about movement etc. I can't wait to hear all about everyones scans ours isn't till the 20th, so a couple of weeks to wait.

I started feeling him move about a week ago. It's so bizarre and exciting!! It's getting stronger everyday. I hoping DF will be able to feel it when he gets back from a work trip, he took the easter break to see his parents in Perth so he's not back till next week.

tauruspregnant! I agree with you about this sort of being the dull time in pregnancy, though saying that it beats the stress of first trimester hands down. I had a 3D/4D scan at 15 1/2 weeks as I was keen to find out the sex, though I've decided not to stock up on the blue till the next scan, just in case it changes to pink. I'm actually really glad we found out, despite DF being okay with not finding out till the birth he's really bonded since that scan. This pregnancy was very unplanned and I think it made it very real for him.

I did break my rule and buy a very cute pair of overalls yesterday, his first piece of clothing!!!! I can't return these as they were on sale at Myer and were so cheap I'm not even worried about it but I'll just keep reciepts and tags for everything else, save what I'll need for the first day or so in hospital, I can send Mum on a emergency exchange trip if need be.

It's the second thing we have bought. DF went out and bought the most beautiful full set of the Beatrix Potter books a few days after we found out I was pregnant, which I have always adored. I think he felt a bit guilty as I was on the pill and he walked around like I hit him with a sledge hammer for a couple of days before he got his head around it. Now he is soo excited.

Alaya I third the Jeanswest suggestion. The maternity jeans I bought there at 12 weeks have been great. I totally agree with you about the Target, Kmart, etc situation. I desperately need some singlets to fit over my bump, their lack of stock is frustrating. I've looked at bonds but their sizes start at 12 and that is way too big for me. I bought some longer singlets a couple of weeks ago but they don't sit very well.

I'm hearing everyone on the lack of sleep...ughh. I've had different appointments a couple times a week since I was 11 weeks pregnant, so sick of it even though I know its necessary. I have about 5 different doctors because of pre-existing health problems which are playing havoc. I'm so glad I'm almost halfway there. Bub's should be okay, save a risk of withdrawal sad.gif sad.gif, because I can't stop some of my medication. I've spoken to the team that handels that and that made me feel better as they seem really clued in, though we will have to be in hospital for a week to 10 days.

DF did a lovely thing a couple of days ago after he found out my best friend will be in Melbs from Perth. He booked us a trip for next weekend with me going down a day before him and coming back a day after so I can have some girl time as well. A mini babymoon because of DF's work schedule we prob won't get a chance for a proper one .It will be so nice to do something normal and get away for a couple days, something that doesn't revolve around doctors appointments.

Lisa, I hope you get the results you're hoping for.

Now I have written a miny essay lol, I hope everyone has an amazing easter.

Red xx

Hi everyone,

Very exciting, 17 weeks yesterday and husband got to feel a kick for the fist time, he was waiting with his hand on my belly for ages while baby was just doing little kicks then it did a big one and he could actually feel it! I thought there was no way he'd be able to for a while so that was nice original.gif

Lisa, yes I've had heart burn. Bit of a bore but little sips of milk seem to ease it, don't really like drinking pain milk, but oh well. Hope you get an improved test result!

overalls sound v cute red

Hi ladies waves.gif

I am so grateful for all the support and well wishes, thank you so much, you're a great group of women original.gif Well I'm Baaaccckk. LOL. I flew home yesterday from Melbourne and all went well. Surgery went fine, baby is well (i'm assuming as I haven't had an u/s or doppler even) I'll be seeing my OB on Tuesday I believe I have to call her and see if she can fit me in which she said she would.

This was the easiest surgery I have had yet, easy recovery. I was out shopping the next day....only for a few groceries but still Tounge1.gif I could do fun stuff in the morning on my trip and then just have a 3 hour nap in the afternoon for the first several days. My scar is AMAZING, you can barely see it and its only been 1.5 weeks. I am feeling bub move, not often....it must be lazy one but I can feel baby none the less..

I will do some personals soon but I need to chill out its been a long couple weeks.

Thanks so much and I'll update the list very soon!
