Hi we have not even concieved #2 yet but i am a bit obsessed about names as i found it SO hard with DS. I have even started to consider names for #3 that would go with DS and which ever name we use for #2 lol. Crazy i know. The problem is i don't LOVE anything and there are many names i really like that go well with DS name but i can't use because they have been used by close family.

DS is Joshua Philip, the girls name i was always going to use was Isabelle but my SIL named her baby Izabella a few months ago so that and anything else ending with belle or bella is a no. Boys names i like but can't use are Issac and Nicholas. Our surname starts with H and ends in B and is 2 syls.

Names we have considered:

Boys

Thomas (like but do not love this name, not sure about Tom as NN when older either)

Nathaniel (not sure if its too long & what NN it would be abreviated to when older)

Nathan (DH likes this im not keen)

Samuel (DH not keen on this i dont mind it)

James (as a middle name, not sure it would go with Thomas though as they both end in s)

i also like Noah and Liam but they don't go well with our surname.

Girls

Sophia (thinking Grace for MN ut open to suggestions of others)

Sophie (DH likes this i prefer Sophia)

Olivia (kind of like this but not sure)

Feel free to comment, suggest middle names that go with our choices or offer any new additions that go with DS name. Im open to any suggestions original.gif
TIA

Firstly, I don't get the NN thing. They'll probably end up with something totally random, like Googie or Missile.

But I do like all your suggestions. They are good solid names that the general public will find easy to say and spell.

Edit to add: two of my cousins have recently named their daughters Sophia and Olivia - so big ups to those names!! original.gif (Another cousin named her daughter Holiday Rose, but that's not the same style as your boy)

Boys

Thomas

-Love it. My brother's name, and he rarely ever gets called Tom, so don't let that put you off! I don't mind Thomas James but other MN suggestions: Ryan, Dane, Owen.

Nathaniel & Nathan

-These were on my list, but DH doesn't care for them. sad.gif

Samuel

-Not my favourite from your list.

Girls

Sophia and Sophie

-Grace goes with both of these IMO, but I'd go with Olivia.

Olivia

-Grace goes with this too, but other MN suggestions: Katherine, Quinn, Charlotte...

Other names:
Alexander, Andrew, Emmett, Patrick, Lucas, Harrison.

Amelia, Adeline, Audrey, Charlotte, Madeleine, Lucia, Scarlett, Ruby.

If DD had been a boy, she would have been Thomas James. I think it is a great (traditional) combo.
