Can you buy them at any of the large retail chains? I was told Big W have them but my local one did have any and hadn't heard about it either.

Haigh's chocolates dark chocolates are also dairy free. We have always stayed clear of the sweet william chocolate as it has soy flour in it. |

Thanks. Our Woolies doesn't have the macro ones in eggs. Normal Sweet William blocks but that's it.
Soy is not a problem for us, DS has a CMP intolerance. Usually he can tolerate small amounts but we were in hospital last week so being very strict again. I'll head to a larger shopping centre with more selections. Thanks |

Did anyone have any issues with the Lindt dark eggs? My allergist has always said that things stating traces are fine, but DS has come up with a facial rash after eating them. I can't entirely say it's them since we've been away and it seems to be impossible to avoid fish traces when you're at the beach.

Interesting you say that! We gave DS1 (highly sensitive to CMP but not anaphylactic) a Lindt dark egg and afterwards he came up with one hive
Just goes to show why they must state "may contain traces of" hey! In my opinion the Lindt dark eggs most certainly do contain a "significant" trace. |

Deejie, I think next year I'll try the Macro ones.. pretty sure everything they make is dairyfree, so would hopefully be okay. Such a hard thing, isn't it? I wonder whether there may have been a bit of carelessness to get the eggs out in time the season. |

Such a hard thing, isn't it? Yes, it sure is. The "traces of" statements could drive you batty. Apart from two other instances (one involving egg, one involving milk) resulting in a few hives, we have never had a problem. We normally wouldn't give DS1 a Lindt egg, but he participated in an egg hunt and I didn't have any forewarning to bring his Sweet William mini-bunnies, so I figured one weeny dark egg would be okay. Lucky for me he didn't like it too much so wasn't keen for more |
