I've only just found out I'm pregnant so it's early days only about 4-5 weeks. I've had alot of recent health problems and I'm really scared that for that reason it won't take and now I'm concerned about telling people. When is the best time to let everyone know your pregnant?

I'm probably just freaking myself out but your comments would be apprectiated.

Congratulations on your first pregnancy, it is normal to get some nerves as well but try and enjoy the moment. It is up to you when you want to tell people, everyone does it differently. Most people wait until after the first trimester when the risk of miscarriage is lower but you might want to share with your family and some close friends sooner.

As PP said many wait until after the 12wks scan before telling anyone.

My first PG I told family at 8wks (was my dad's 60th and everyone was together - we all live interstate/overseas).

2nd PG I told family at 9wks (after dating scan)

3rd PG I told family at 12wks (even kept quiet about threatened miscarriage at 9-10wks which had me on bed rest).

Then after the 12wk scan we were happy to tell friends/work.

Congratulations. It is, of course, completely up to you. There's a saying - tell only those you'd be happy to untell if things go wrong - which I thought was wise so followed. For us, we could think if nothing worse than grieving a loss and having to share that with the world because we'd spread the word. So it was Dh and my secret from 4 till 7 weeks when we had a scan, saw the heartbeat , so felt safe telling my mum
and sisters plus our best friends. only the people who we would untell and who would support us.

Hi Elle-Jade, it's best to wait till 12 weeks to announce to most people however, if you want early support from family or a close friend who you would tell if you had a miscarriage then maybe consider telling someone like that?
Come to the November DIG (Due in group) for support if you like. There is a bunch of us going through exactly the same thing which might give you some reassurance.
