Just wondering if anyone knows of any allergies or intolerances that could cause a non-itchy rash (small red patches in random locations).

I have a contact allergy to grass, so a rash for me = itchy madwoman!

How random?

DS2 had one recently which turned out to be an ingredient in sunscreen. Once we found out, it was obvious as the rash pattern was concentrated on the areas the sun hits most i.e. front of arms, cheekbones.

He has another one now which we're still working out. We're fairly sure it's a contact allergy because it's only on regularly exposed skin (arms, legs, a little on his face).

If you are seeing rash spots on the torso, mouth, groin, palms or soles of feet, you need to get to the Dr to rule out a raft of possible viral causes. Also if they are getting weepy or have a red aura around them.

Random as in a couple on feet and arms, quite a few on lower back and some on legs. Drs appointment booked for two weeks time - pharmacist said "it's not a normal rash" and suggested either anti-histamines if it is an allergy or dermaid for if not. I just think that an allergy would cause itchiness. I can't think of any changes to food, soaps, shampoos, places visited etc.

It doesn't sound like the same sort of rash but DD2's spots/rashes from CMPI aren't usually itchy.

They are very random and usually start out with a few spots on her face. Then she will get some on her torso, arms, legs, back etc if she is continually exposed to dairy.

DS2's latest batch aren't itchy either and they have been swabbed and cleared for being viral, so definitely allergy.

I'm giving antihistamines, cleaning with sorbolene only, and dabbing an antiseptic cream on the spots to help prevent infection, which happened to DS last time and was horrific.

most rashes are not allergy related, take the rash to a doctor and find out, could it be ringworm or something like that?

Our son had an unusual non-itchy rash last year that lasted for 6 months.
After numerous Dr's visits and blood tests, we finally saw a dermatologist, who did a skin biopsy and diagnosed what it really was.
3 months of anti biotics and it was gone.
It was PLC.
