so we had to get a new lounge as current chocolate brown lounge is faulty.

get to the store, find a lounge we like in similar colour to current one, yep that will do us. BUT then we see the same lounge in white and LOVE it.

if only we didn't have 4 young kids i say to dh.

Half an hour later, we walk out after purchasing a white leather lounge.

I am having second thoughts and regretting dh talking me into it.

would you buy a white lounge?

if you have one, how does it look after kids and how do you keep it looking great?

I'm not a bad mum, I'm a good mum with low expectations
My brother has a white leather King furniture lounge and one rather grotty toddler. The lounge is holding up well and they clean it with a spray of windex original.gif

Our lounge is cream and with 3 grotty boys you will be glad to know that our lounge is the cleanest thing in our house. It wipes clean, pen marks fade suprisingly fast and I feel so grown up every time I see it original.gif

No chance in hell.

Not only is DS messy, so are DH and I.

It wouldn't stay white for long and that would annoy me.

Have you set up the lounge yet? You can always get a refund if you are really regretting it.

Thanks so much for your replies. I think at least the cream (pebble or taupe or bisque) would be better than the white. Oh well have purchased the extended warranty and leather care kit, so hopefully we can pull it off.

Do you just wipe clean with a damp cloth on a regular basis? or is windex the way to go?

Windex faded the finish on the part of my leather lounge that I tried it on (mine is burgundy, so probably wouldn't be so noticeable in white and I guess would depend on your finish). Try it in an inconspicuous spot first.

DD got black texta on our lounge. I can see it because I know where to look. If it was white it would be very, very obvious, it's right in the middle of a cushion. I'm very glad our lounge is a dark colour.

We just purchased our 2nd white leather lounge. The first one is in the office, but the kids all use it. The 2nd one is actually a sofa bed,in the nursery.
We have 4 kids and 1 on the way,and wouldn't get anything but white. We are actually thinking of getting rid of the dark leather loune suite for a white one in the family room.

We haven't had any probs keeping them clean,as the kids dont walk around with textas. I keep on top of keeping them clean though from grubby marks. I always giving them a quick once over with a damp cloth and cleaner. I also use a leather protector.

Start moving all your pens and textas up now, and provide somewhere else for drawing, like an outdoor blackboard. And cross your fingers wink.gif

My MIL got a very white/cream leather lounge. I was worried about my kids being around it. Of course DD took to it with a black texta one day when MIL was babysitting her ohmy.gif
MIL just got out the leather care kit and cleaned it up, no problem. The only hint of a problem was where the texta ran over the stitching on the lounge, but if you didn't know about it, you wouldn't pick it.
