Successful VBAC!!!

Contractions started at 11.30pm Thursday 26/04 and I'd been told to labour at home as long as I could for a better chance for a VBAC, I stayed home until Sunday night when I couldn't cope any longer. We got to the hospital at 7pm, Hank was born at 8.37pm, so no time for pain relief.

I am smitten wub.gif

Hi all, sorry this took a while, I have just struggled to find time to sit down in front of the computer! My baby girl arrived on 17 April and I have been staring at her ever since wub.gif

Labour started at 11:30pm on monday and she was born at 5:41am on tuesday. My waters broke quite soon after contractions started so we headed in to the hospital at 1:00am. They thought that they might send me home to labour a bit longer but I was convinced it was go time. By the time they checked me I was 8cms. The pushing was very long (2 hours) and I ended up with some tearing and an episiotomy, but was glad to avoid any further intervention as they said they wouldn't let me push much longer than that. I had a lot of back pain between contractions which was actually worse than the contractions themselves.

Anyway, we are going well, muddling through with breastfeeding as I have flat nipples and had some nipple damage early on. DP went back to work today, so I'm a bit freaked out about doing this on my own.

Congrats to everyone!
